      It's awesome! Just a couple of feedback though. The glitch transition is kinda jarring and in some parts of the video, the music muffles your voice.

    • @Turabbo
      @Turabbo 2 місяці тому

      The glitch sound effects specifically aren't balanced very well against your voice. Your VO is quite flat, even more so once you switch to your screen recording shots.
      I don't know if you've applied a high pass filter, or just have a bad microphone.
      But your music and glitch effects have a significantly fuller balance than your voice. Which means that, even if your DBs look well balanced, they dominate your voice. (Although I'd probably just make your voice louder overall anyway)
      Solution is either turning up your voice volume with respect to other audio; stop using a high pass filter; or buy a higher quality mic. ♥️

    i figured that out a month ago, bad normals did a video a year ago that shows that, but this here is a new lvl, thats so powerfull, thx a lot! also interesting in combination with embergen, way more complex smoke sims possible there, but still editable with geo nodes, the future with that in blender will be amzing!

    Great vid man!
    One little issue; this might only be for me, but your commentary audio is really quiet, and even harder to hear when mixed with music and sfx. An easy way to check is to bring in your final video and a video from another creator, and compare the audio levels on the playback.

    • @ZacFarmer

      Thanks for the tip, which I think you said last time too! Haha. I’ll definitely try and fix it. Not sure if I can reload here but I’ll give it a shot. My mic is weirdly set to mono so maybe changing it to stereo messed it up

      @@ZacFarmer Hi, the left ear thingy reminds me of an editing program quirk, which might have taken the place here.
      If an audio track is stereo but source audio is mono, the editing program might play it in only one ear. Changing the audio track to mono fixes that.
      Hope you have a great day!

    Great study, visuals, camera work and effects. I definitely want to try this when I pick up Blender again.
    I do wish your voice audio was better. You sound far away and the pixelated transition effects sound louder than you. Also your Blender voice over is only coming out of my left speaker. Last suggestion would be to have a longer example at the end of the finished product. LOVE the examples you gave at the start though! I wish the examples were as high of a resolution as your camera though. I understand that's computationally difficult though.
    Great video! My suggestions are by no means me disliking the video, just seeing how it could be made even better than it already is.
    Keep up the good work!

      I really appreciate the genuine feedback. Definitely got a lot of comments about the volume so that will be a priority for me hahhaah. Likewise I will definitely make more room at the end for more renders. I always do these for socials but I could do them for horizontal too of course. Would actually be a fun challenge to try and get some better and longer scenes too so I really appreciate that thought. Thanks again!

    That is an amazing approach to recreate houdini like effects in blender. Related approach is done by the chanel called atti. It would be interesting to see how you would realize now to interact the precalculated points with a colider I guess it is called. Maybe done in the geo nodes. Maybe for the next video :)

    • @ZacFarmer
      @ZacFarmer  3 місяці тому +1

      haha loving Attis work so thanks for that comparison! Its super important to try and push Blender into the professional space more and more! And yeah you could definitely use some points to interact with objects. GN just thinks of it as a mesh anyway so it'd would be really cool to see what happens when you add some sim nodes or set positions like you said!

  • @stevensmith7937
    @stevensmith7937 3 місяці тому

    You can avoid using alembic. Make your liquid particles. Now add a single vert. Give it a Particle Instance modifier. Select the Domain as the Particle Instance emitter. Now select vert,add geo nodes and Mesh to Points node. Incidentally points will render as perfect spheres in Cycles. You can adjust the size in Mesh to Points node.

    • @ZacFarmer
      @ZacFarmer  3 місяці тому

      Good idea but in my tests all of the blend files that had the original fluid soon ran much slower and struggled with geo node editing. The ABC elevated a lot of data for me at least.

    Cool video. some tips: Make sure you don't export a 1080i video again. That i is for interlaced video, hence the lines and bad quality. Next time use 1080p (Progressive) or even better, 4K! and render at least 20mbps constant bitrate.

    deinterlace your footage...why is it even interlaced? how do you export your vids? also that glitch effect is way too often. and like others have said your voice is a bit quiet. (use adobe podcast audio to make your voice sound epic....if you have a subscription) other than that, great job dude!
