To me a steel toed boot also needs a tarsal guard to protect the foot bones and not just the toes. I had boots that had both in an aluminum smelting factory for 12 years. I agree, the heritage line is more of a casual( nothing wrong with that).
Some of the Iron Ranger reviews are hilarious. They talk about how long the break-in was and you know it’s just walking dirty city sidewalks to the next martini bar. They’ve never been on jobsites where you have to follow the tire tracks from trucks to stay out of 6” of mud.
@@SuperSteelSteve I need boots but my job doesn’t require toe protection and I’m not wearing them if I don’t have to. If you’re on a job that requires PPE then there’s no excuse.
@@blauer2551 don't know what that's got to do with what I said. The original statement was that the boots are not work boots because they didn't have a steel toe. Not all guys that work on sites need steel toe. That was my point. I spent 250 for my boots, with really cool boa late up.god I 😘 ved them ,all 6 months. The shank broke and I tried to take them back and guess what? Told to hit the road,I was told I must be wearing the wrong socks then ,then I got them wet,all wich voided all promises. Called the 800 and told to send them in so they can see what happened and then if it was thier fault they would stand by them. Sometime later30 plus days,I recieved a new boot that was not the style I sent in. Was never ask wich one I want and if I didn't want them ,I have to pay to send them back. It's a shame and I sorry I ever spent money with this shitty company.
@edwardwelch7560 Your local Red Wing store should be able to replace all the hooks for free. Tell them to use the stud hooks. Otherwise you should be able to get a replacement pair due to the 1 year manufacturer warranty. Just make sure the replacement boot is from a different production run date from the original pair. Hope this helps
It doesn't mean they're fake. It depends on the model. There are some made in Cambodia, too. You just need to do your research before blindly buying boots that you assume are made in the USA.
My brothers red wings are made over seas. Red wings are overpriced. His were two hundred and some. Mine built in usa were four hundred dollars. Only had them a year they are falling apart.
@@ralphe2839 Paid the same for my made in the USA Red Wings. I'm kinda wishing I would of went with Nick's with all the comments saying these don't hold up and not made like they use to be. 💲😬
The heritage line is a casual boot and not designed for any work out side of an office cubicle. Their actual work boots have been farmed out to foriegn manufacturers and are imported. Their work boot quality died with the outsourcing
@@6h471 I shouldn't generalize like I do because there are a couple exceptions. @@peterweikel7123 You are right and wrong. The heritage line is still manufactured here in the US and those are constructed with a hand and machine building. The work boots on the other hand are made here in the US as well as in Vietnam (depending on the model). The one thing that separates Redwing from the rest is that all the parts are made here in the US but assembled overseas. A tip is that if the tag within the boot is a white tag, it is constructed here in the US and if it is black, then the parts are shipped overseas and constructed there. One thing is, the same tanner from 80 years ago still produces the leather for all Redwing and Irish Setter boots.
Red Wing Super sole boots are shit!! My super sole fell apart in pieces and I hardly used them. There is no sticking in the welt !! No one could repair them. Had to send back to Red Wing to reglue them.
I also had issues with the super soles when I first started getting them about 8 years ago, but I recently purchased a new pair and it seems they've fixed whatever the construction issue was and I couldn't be happier with them. If you liked everything else about them give em another shot.
They won’t give you the price online because it’s so ridiculously high. They think if you go to store and see prices you will be less likely to not buy
Absolute worst work boots ever. The soles fell apart after 2 months. I took them back to the store and asked if they would repair them. They said they can be resoled for a price. $100. I said that's ridiculous and turned to walk out. The salesman was holding the shoes when I was walking away. He said what about your shoes? I told him you know where you can shove them.
I think we have a different definition of work.
I love watching boot reviews from a guy who’s never worked a day in his life
😂😂
Get out of my head man!.
2406's are my go to for the past 20 years
Just got some thanks to my job they gave us a voucher and these boots r honestly the best!!!
Which ones did you end up getting?

Yes
You are not showing the real work boot the mock toe is not the best
You haven't eaten shit from catching your heel on a ladder yet haha
Most boots are not made right . If you need a wide boot you get a d size steel toe . Not good .

Good boots
The tag on my redwing boots says made in China not USA. Hhhmmmmmmm!!!!
That means they are fake.
My pair that I bought in store are made in the USA and say it.

Ralph E you should always do research I got my mic toes for 170 built in the USA, can’t nock a company if you don’t know what you want
But why the robot voice tho
Because it is a robot
More like 10 of the most expensive
What happened to the boots in the thumbnail? I'm not interested in these 🤬
Your outsole is glued and not stitched.
Depends on the boot. Glued outsoles are very common..

The soles are so hard that makes them unwearable.
Not if u break them in
Have to wear them...
