Thank you for the good feedback! I actually didn't realize people cared for a right hook breakdown. I'll have to do a part 2 of this further down the line.
Hey coach! Thanks for the tip. I don't think the rear hook is taught very much if at all; people always go over the cross so it's definitely good to get more info about it. Could you also go over the overhand right in a future video?
Hey Andy! I'm very glad you said that because I was actually worried that people weren't going to care to see a rear hook tutorial 😅. I will definitely do a video on the overhand in a future video, thanks for suggesting! 👍🏽
TO THROW THE REAR HOOK MORE SAFELY: just before throwing move your forearm a few inches foreward in space, still held vertically this will make it so it is equally distant from opponent with your lead arm. then snap the elbow up and whip out the hook of course you want to always throw with different setups and different angles, but this takes care of the HUUUGE opening this punch makes if you throw it otherwise.
Like when you mentioned missing on purpose in practice. Most of us don't practice enough when we miss so in spar or fight when we miss we have no idea how to keep going
I noticed you don't twist on the follow through..I've found twisting punches tends to naturally put more mass into the action without trying to add mass
Hey Bill, thank you for the comment! I am twisting my hips and shoulders, but the amount of twist should vary depending on various factors such as power vs speed, inside vs outside, combination vs single shot, etc. If this is not what you meant, would you mind elaborating further?
@@coachpillowfists it's almost like you are flicking your thumb down..all mechanics that you explained are included of course.. and your technique doesn't change..it's just a tiny add on to the follow through I find done quickly it also seems to fix the tenancy to short cut following through for speed so punches are always solid landing without the effort normally required..I hope that explains it..I'm no Rhoades scholar ✌️
@@billsmiley233 I think I see, kind of like you're corkscrewing your hand? Some things are just very difficult to explain in writing lol. Thank you for elaborating!
Explosion 💥 with dynamite 🧨 + Coach Pillow Fist your killing it (literally)
Always appreciated! 🙏🏽 Love the comments 🤣
Smart stuff…as always, coach. Thanks for the knowledge!
I’m glad you liked it, thank you for your support Miyanovich! 👌🏾
It’s about time someone broke down the right hook. Much appreciated

Great stuff coach. If you've a decent lead hook and you switch stance, the rear hook becomes thunderous. Takes practice of course. Peace.
Thanks Jimmy! I always prefer to keep the lead hand in the front, but yes anything can be mastered through practice 💪🏽
Thanks for the info, i'll try to incorporate this in my sparring. Have a nice day!
I hope it goes well! You have a nice day as well 🥊
Really cool coach using that right like that is not taught as often as it should thanks for the info.
I'm glad to see it was a good choice to cover the rear hook, I appreciate it Jashué 👌🏽
Nice technique. Practical real boxing right here 🥊 new subscriber for sure. Don't stop teaching brotha. Peace
Thank you x! Welcome to the channel, and glad to see you like it 🙌🏽
Many thanks coach ❤️❤️
Many thanks to you as well, Hussein! 🙌🏽

Asian Canelo bro. Inspirational
Best compliment ever! I wish 😆 Thank you bro!
Coach, are there other platforms you're on that we can follow you on? Great video as always
Hey Troy, thank you! At this time, UA-cam is the only platform I have, but maybe I'll expand sometime in the future 👌🏽
Not to take away from the rear hook... but I love the sound of your lead hook. MAX IMPACT!
Hey man! I appreciate it 🤣 Yeah I definitely favor the left hook over my right for sure. Team Left Hook 💪🏽
Hey Coach Pillow Fist, can you do a video about feints? Great vid BTW!
Hey Vintan! I still got some videos I'm working on putting out first, but I'll definitely do one covering feints. Thank you! 👊🏽

Can you make about a fight inside.. like how to best position, and how to pick punch and combination when inside
I have this one on my list for the near future. Just gotta have a partner available again for the video 👌🏾
Thanks a lot coach pillow fists. 😊
Hey Ahmed, you're very welcome! 👊🏽
coach you teach boxing online?
That is something I might do a little bit further into the future, but at this time I'm just doing these public videos for everyone 👍🏽

I appreciate that, man! I'm glad to have people like you learning from my channel 👊🏽
Floyd and Andre ward loves to throw a touch or pawing jab then throw a sweeping rear hook that pierces through a tight guard. 😱👌
That's a good move! 👌🏽
