I have the almost same problem but mine I plug the TV in 240-50Hz power supply instead of 120-60Hz power supply.
I opened the tv and got to know one of the IC is broken but is not the EEProm.
the two IC that looks almost like the EEprom
    having code number: RT8293AL
    ZSPFG21S written on.
that one is broken, please can that ic be replaced and the board will work again?

apparently these tvs die in fall of 2018
I was able to get it to turn on by unplugging the tv and plugging it back in, but it doesn't work anymore so I guess it's time to replace the chip

Hi, I have a Magnavox 40, not sure which model it is at the moment and also a Panasonic blue ray, first off the LCD TV and all the other stuff was working fine some time back but has not been turned on for awhile, always been plugged in as with all the other appliances. So Today, I decide I want to listen to a little Pandora and I turn on the TV and there's no sound. I try all the remotes for my setup, the sound bar, the blue ray, and Roku. I can not get any responses from the blue ray as in turn on/off, I cannot get any response from the TV response outside of being able to turn it on and off with the remote. I can use the manual buttons on the TV and get the sound to go all the way up but as soon as I let go of the button, the volumes goes all the way to zero on its own. I have a remote IR tester to see that they are working and they are working all the batteries are new. I tried finding a sight online for answers and I keep getting run right back to the page I find so called answer links on with nothing to offer but the same links on the previous page. I'm disgusted, frustrated, irritated, you name it. I'm on fixed income so there's just no way I can simply chuck stuff and buy new. I need answers. I have some experience with electronics and used to work on TV's but that was back when you could replace parts and get schematics for stuff. I have all kinds of test equipment. But with out a schematic, well the way things are made these days, it's pretty much a swap this and see if that fixes it and if it doesn't, search for another replacement board and try that with hopes. After while you have wasted enough time and spent enough to replace the TV with something else. So, first, looking for some insight as to what is causing the volume issue. Obviously it isn't something to do with the ability to produce audio, it will make audio with the button pushed. The Blue Ray, well that's another issue, I can worry about that on another day. The Blue ray will work but it has to be operated with the buttons on top, so I'm guessing this has something to do with the IR sensor maybe. I have some of those on hand and I can work on testing by guess work and hunting for something in the circuit that doesn't look right as far as voltages and such, it would be real nice if I could find schematics for my stuff.

Let me edit my original post, it is not a 40 model, it is a 32ME306/V7 and I would like to know where technicians get schematics and service info for TV's these days. I used to get tech info from Sams but that was back in the early 80's. So in this video, you are discussing EEPROMs and I'm curious where and how you get the software to build something like this? I know it's not just something anyone can access and work with. NO intentions here to even mess with something like this, just curious.

@@brettschacher8644 There is no short and accurate answer to your question that I know of, sorry. Basically nobody repairs 32'' TVs anymore if the answer isn't already known and posted somewhere, most commonly in form of a repair kit...which also allows for a shady business selling bunch of parts and calling it "repair kit". There are enthusiasts websites like badcaps where you can also find a lot of quality people to help you, but not many will advise you to push repair on a 32'' TV. We simply do not have the resources to help with that, sorry. Schematics you get through Google, Yandex and the Chinese search engines...and some specialized websites.

    Hello,
I wanted to get your advice on my tv issue if possible, before I send you my board.
I have a Magnavox tv S# 46me313v/f7, it is under 6 years old. I tried powering it on and the on light on the tv showed it was on, but there was no picture. I had a repair person come and look at it. He tested all the parts with a gadget that checked for the level of power and he said it was the main board and that I could order one on Ebay. I did and when I replaced the part the tv screen was upside down and the picture was blurry. I contacted the seller they said it was probably the mirror settings. I looked up everything on my owners manual and my tv has no mirror settings available, so it was not that. They exchanged it for another board, I tried again and had the same issue. I contacted them again and they said that they looked up my part and they do not make this board anymore. The seller refunded me the money and said try and find someone to repair on Ebay. Have you ever heard of this type of issue and if so, what do you suggest I do?
    Thank you for your time,
    Maria

You were sent board from either a different model or a different series within same model. Those Philips TVs have the weird property of being distinctly different inside among different bathes and you need to know the serial number (or rather how it starts with) to make sure you get the right board.
Either you or seller or both did not know that, hence your experience.
It is definitely not up to mirror mode.
Problem is often fixable with help of your old board and one of the new ones, but we can only help if you're local and bring the whole thing here.

@Coppell TV Repair LLC: I have a small magnavox tv that when I plug it in to the power, the red power light blinks, but the tv doesn't turn on itself. Is it on stanby mode?

    • @coppelltvrepair

I honestly do not know. Different TVs have slightly different behavior upon connecting to AC and I have never seen most of them and probably do not remember most of the ones that I've seen, except the ones we've worked on in the past year or so.

Sorry can't help without making bold assumptions that may end up being incorrect and throw you off instead of help you. It is safe to say that at 43'' and Philips at that you may be better off just replacing it.

Hey Coppell TV Repair LLC, my power button on the front of my tv is broken and my remote broke soooo do you know how to fix it?

    • @coppelltvrepair
      @coppelltvrepair 5 років тому

I believe we do, but I am not sure what all we know or can do can be taught online. For example we have lots of old parts here that we can use and you may not.
Broken remote may be easier to replace than repair.
