Applause for the idea and the effort it obviously took. Really, it was very inspirational. I must say, there were times when I could not help but wonder if the final editing calls were "outsourced locally." Some answers seemed sensitively truncated, others altogether cut. One wonders the affect that domestic influences had on the editing of this product. Did feng have any shui in the matter? If not---then you guys should've made it longer and pulled no punches. Otherwise--Rich pilot. Where is part II? How about a "Where are they now?"
you can judge it cool or not when someday you are here, but everybody who's been here can assure you that it's quite different from what Western people think
Thank you for your comment. The editing has much room for improvement, I will say, as it was home sourced (but not locally), but overall I think the result is adequate and progressive from previous experiments. Answers were not lapsed due to any sensitivity but rather due to long-windedness and repetition. The original video was 26 minutes long and a link can be found in the 'Description' section. Some of the participants have since left China, others are sure-to-be longstanding residents. I am currently putting together a project which will involve interviews in Mandarin with Chinese natives working in Shenzhen. I think it will be a nice flip side to the ex-pat experience.
All adventure hungry young people work as an English teacher for 30k a year, and then you have this old wise cat from Canada, traveled all over the world, and owns several small firms. Big in China :)
So, a 13 minute vid, and it takes you a minute to start introducing people. And here it's 2 minutes in and you are still introducing people and have not started content yet. Lame editing is lame.

Cheers guys! China is very different than anywhere else I've ever lived for sure! It definitely takes adjusting to but there's as much good as bad.
China sounds like a cool place.
