It seems that the lessons of the 20th Century still have not been learned. It is not in Britain's interests to fight a land war on the European continent. Not only can we not afford it, we have no assets there we need to protect. Britain should focus on naval power, creating a strong fleet that can protect trade and respond to challenges in the Commonwealth. "Learning the lessons of Ukraine" is absurd given the fact that Britain and Ukraine have completely different geographies, challenges and ways of waging war.
This isn't about lessons learned. There's big money in war.
