From the dates on the video and info it looks like August 21, 1995 to February 9, 1996, was the Ratline for my younger brother. Mine was from August 18 to March 16. Now I'm going to watch this to see if I can find my brother, his roommates and anyone else I would have known.
They could have, several very wealthy VMI alumni had the cash to buy the post from the state. It would have been chump change for them. The problem was that the Feds told VMI that if they went private to avoid admitting women (as ordered by the SCOTUS) they would pull all ROTC scholarships from the school. So basically the Feds said "you can have a private all male military school if you want but none of your graduates will be getting a commission in the US military."
