Thank you for this wonderful, playful documentary! It is such a treat to hear Nike Wagner speak about Liszt and Beethoven, thank you for interviewing her! I hope she will be the guest of honour at the Competition ;).
I happen to agree with her that Beethoven would have become the superstar he is today without Liszt's life-long promotion as well eventually, but Liszt certainly sped up the process, especially outside the German-speaking lands. Regarding the story of Liszt meeting Beethoven I would wager that it is probably partly true: I can't really imagine that Czerny wouldn't have taken him to visit Beethoven, since both of them were such an important part of his life. The Weihekuss sounds a bit far-fetched to me, too :) but then again we are talking about the dawn of the high romantic era, so who the hell knows.

I was in Bonn two years ago during Beethoven Festival. Then went on to Vienna to follow his foot prints. What an amazing trip it was! Thank you for the video of my forever boy friend Ludwig!

Quite insightful, couldn't have made it any better. So great is the music that it distracts me from listening to what the people are actually conveying in the mini-documentary! It's mind-blowing!

Well done for an outstanding mini documentary about my music Hero Herr Ludwig Van Beethoven. Franz Liszt has been The promoter of his music and was the best pianist and composer who transcribed and taught his students about the interpretation of Beethoven’s music.

What a nice documentary, full of passion and with the background of Romanticism.

It is a matter of time still to see, how great Beethoven will be. History is gratefull to Franz Listz for all he did about Beethoven's work, but even if Liszt would not have done it ,the figure of LVB will rise even higher! Without any idolizing...
