The MC is the famus Japanese author Shūji Tsushima known by his pen name Osamu Dazai. Ozamu Dazai died, in a double suicide, in 1948 at the age of 39. On June 13, 1948, Dazai and Tomie drowned themselves in the rain-swollen Tamagawa Canal, near his house. Annette became disillusioned with these so-called heroes after seeing what shitty people Truck-kun kept selecting, and her job just became that: a job. Sensei not being impressed and flat out refusing to become a hero made her realise that she could also reject her fate. Him being handsome with a melancholic charm combined with THAT is what makes her fall in love with him. While it happens a bit quickly for us, the reasons have been building up inside Annette for years, so it doesn't feel as shallow as some isekai romances to me at least.
