I love the way that Gura feels the music when she sings. IDK if she was hurt in the past or is holding onto something, but I guess it doesn't matter... The way she always gets choked up or cries when she sings the slower songs about love is so adorable. She comes off as a trolly little gremlin most of the time (especially her past-self lol), but in reality she's such a giant sweetie. Her emotional connection to the music really makes me love listening to her sing.

I do think someone broke her heart maybe before her debut . Singing this song I think she was thinking about someone. And the Moon Song. Maybe it was another shark . She always says there is a story why she left. Lol.
When I was little my parents fought... a lot. Police were at the house every week. My mother had threatened suicide a multitude of times. One day the fights had almost gotten physical had I not stepped in and convinced my parents that they needed to split up. During all of that I had not cried once. A couple of years later, and my Grandpa dies. I loved him, and had many great memories with him. I remember vividly writing a message on a balloon and sending it off. Again, I did not cry. Barely a week before my 15th birthday my uncle died. I remember waking up to my mom crying and walking into my room to break the news. I could only react with an "oh." Before comforting my mother. The only thing I felt during the funeral was the heavy atmosphere. I didn't cry. At this point I wasn't even sure if could cry, if I could even feel sadness. Everyday when I went to bed I prayed that I didn't wake up, and when I did wake up. I wondered if I would finally fall of that cliff edge I have been dancing on for so long. I've never cried during any of these moments. And yet Gura's voice had unlocked whatever box I stowed my emotions away in, she had caused the mask I was wearing to crumble. I have cried more listening to her sing this song than I have my whole life. And I am genuinely thankful for it. I doubt you will ever see this, but seriously thank you Gura.

I gotta say, I think Gura is the best singer in Hololive. some might disagree but the way she puts so much emotion into whatever she's singing is amazing. Wish I was able to sing that well. :}
Her and Suisei are honestly in an even neck-to-neck for me. But in my opinion they kind of function different roles and give different vibes, and that's great y'know. Not all comparisons have to be quantitative because different things have unique characteristics that serve unique purposes.
But maybe from a purely skill-based evaluation, Suisei wins out by a bit due to her experience and maturity as a singer. I don't doubt Gura can attain the same level being such a prodigious singer, with enough time and dedication like all things.
A case where the slight lisp is a feature/charm-point not a detriment. Her range, emotional conveyance and song choices are staggering, others have the advantage of practice/familiarity at specific other types of song but IMO Gura is by far the best all rounder.

I can't brush off the feeling that something has happened in her life before her debut. Every time I listen to this song I have tears in my eyes. I was 2 months late to her debut, but I am so happy I found something like this. She seems so pure and virtual or not, she is adorable. Also, her voice is amazing. It's unbelievably good. There's no better version of this song, period. Even Gura's later covers aren't as good as this, these 2 back to back covers are raw and emotional, perfectly imperfect. I come back here a couple times a year and cry every time, I think this is my favorite performance of any song ever.

I think what I love most about Gura's voice and her singing talent is that it's very clear she has a passion and a really keen ability to sing older songs, Sinatra and Presley songs she's covered are some of her best, and I think they're ones best suited for her. As someone who grew up listening to the older generation of music before properly loving the newer generations, I really appreciate Gura's work on them ^^

There's no better version of this song, period. Even Gura's later covers aren't as good as this, these 2 back to back covers are raw and emotional, perfectly imperfect. I come back here a couple times a year and cry every time, I think this is my favorite performance of any song ever.
I still come back to listen to the goobs singing. Only Calli and the short shork can consistently hit me in the feels via repeats, most of the others have bops but not many go for the classics or serenades.

my grandma loved elvis and shared a birthday with him. she passed away 4 years ago and whenever i hear an elvis presley song it always gets me. it hurts even more since this was her favorite song, amazing rendition :)

I think what I love most about Gura's voice and her singing talent is that it's very clear she has a passion and a really keen ability to sing older songs, Sinatra and Presley songs she's covered are some of her best, and I think they're ones best suited for her. As someone who grew up listening to the older generation of music before properly loving the newer generations, I really appreciate Gura's work on them ^^

Gura lives the music, she puts so much emotion when she sings and it shows, it's just more noticeable with slow songs. At first I liked her singing but now I adore it, whether it's an upbeat song or a beautiful one like this.
