"Rhapsody in Blue"-(Gershwin) Charles Magnante plays his spectacular accordion arrangement

Without a doubt, this is George Gershwin's most famous composition & he had it finished in just three weeks for its debut in New York. Gershwin created a unique American style of music by combining classical, jazz & blues raising them from cabaret & nightclub music into elite symphonic works. I don't know what year this recording is from, but the sound is certainly good enough to display his incredible virtuosity.

I read that Gershwin was so impressed with this arrangement that he authorized it to be played and recorded by Charles without the customary royalty fees.
