Ive watched every RX7 video you had in chronological order. Please more Rx7 content, love the build and how its coming along. How much $$ have you spent on the FD since getting buying it?

Thanks for watching and supporting my channel man i appreciate it! So far im $11,000 into the project. I would love to make more content on the rx7 but i need a shop to start the car for me and make sure everything is healthy but its $100 an hour for the shop to work on it so i need to make sure everything is ready to go and works before i drop it off. I would assume after i get it started and fix/replace everything, the rx7 will cost me roughly $13,000 total with paint and mechanical restoration. Hopefully I can make new videos for you guys soon!

Yeah the rx7 is one of my dream cars and it’s also an appreciating asset so it’s a good investment that i can make alot of money on if i sell it later on in life. Plus I get to have fun with it. 🤘
      Win/win situation!

Good luck tell Cameron I said hi probably the only 18 year old kid that drove to Watkins GLEN to watch him race! And helped him in the pits at the 24hr of Daytona .

@@seanhaight3939 yes he sure is i spent quite a bit of time down there. My name is Chris. I had a black 94 base. I used to work the pits with him in Dayton and sebring all dressed up in a pit suit and everything. It was quite a long time ago but he should remember me. Black 94 with white racing hart tuner wheels. Even did some bracket racing against him at what is now PBIR moroso motorsports Park. He tortured me when I got my first build. I drove all the way to Watkins GLEN on a break in ECU that he put in the car where it didn't allow more than a few pounds of boost 😂😂 those were some of the best times back then. I remember the first 3 rotor he built he also took me for a ride. Great guy tell him I will never forget him. Fun fact he was Steve Saleen roommate in college. I came from a mustang to the RX7. Still remember the good ole TKT Package (turn key terror)

Thats so sick! Ill be sure to mention you the next time i see him! How did you like your fd rx7? Im putting so much money into mine but ive never driven one or been in a stock or street built rx7 so idk if my expectations are a little too high for what it will turn out to be. I love my rx8 so im hoping its similar but with more power/torque lol

@@seanhaight3939 tell you the truth i still have dreams about my RX7. I Loved that car. I purchased mine stock with only 23k miles and it was my first turbo car. They were still pretty new back than and I was coming from a 95 heads cam upper and lower pretty well built mustang. I didn't really know what to expect but it was really hard not to fall in love with the RX7. I was looking at it and a 94 Toyota supra. I immediately was taken by the RX7 to me the supra was kinda big and just not as sculpted, quite frankly the FD Was a work of art! I still hung around all the mustang crowd and needless to say embarrassed quite a few in a car nobody really knew nothing about much less what the Wankel rotary was! I tool it to the track and was able to run a 13.7 @ 101 mph best and never ran worse than a 13.9 unless missing a gear or something. So yes the car was impressive. It took alot of getting use too but it was amazing! Than I got there base TKT Package and that dropped it down to a 13.2 at over 105 to 106 mph. Then ofcourse there were recalls and its share of problems like the sequential turbo set up would get stuck where you only had the first turbo and 4,500 rpm it was like a cork was stuck in the engine. I'm sure you have seen all the vacuum lines under the intake manifold 😂 . But once I had it built by Cameron had the turbos done it was a beast low 12 second car on street tires and definitely a high 11 second capable car! Back then that was pretty much unbeatable to any street car I would run into. I actually would race CBR 600's and ZX 750's in it and loved the look on there faces after. Its a wonderful car but very temperamental but even blowing a seal it never left me stranded lol. Once you got home and turned it off though that was it! Anyway I really beat the hell out of it and didn't sell it till I had about 120k miles on it. Your going to love it. It truly is a proper driver's car.

Thanks man thats what im hoping for! I cant wait for it to be done so i can cruise around in it and enjoy it for what it is. Ill be keeping the engine stock for now until it needs a rebuild so I can enjoy the car as long as possible without paying for a rebuild and single turbo setup. If Cam thinks the engine is healthy enough to drive for the next 6+ months then ill put some money into new suspension, wheels/tires, and a paint job. Im still unsure what color i want to do but im thinking either respraying the original silver color or doing titanium gray metallic that was only available on the jdm 2001-2002 model. I dont want to rush the build, i want to make sure i do it properly because im probably keeping this car forever! lol

Bad move on not buying the high pressure line it does need high pressure hose .many people lose their rx7s due to fire because of stuff like that spend the $20 and get the correct lines you can still buy it from the auto parts store but make sure it's high pressure rated well worth the extra money!!!!!

Thanks man i just looked it up and yeah it seems like fd rx7 owners have lost their cars from engine bay fuel fires so im definitely going to order some high quality braided lines to put on there before i start it. I cant let this car burn down because ive invested so much time and money into it lol. Thanks for letting me know man! You probably saved my rx7 from burning to the ground 🤘
