The Ozarks have long been a source of tall tales and colorful stories, making it difficult for historians to separate fact from fiction. In "The Old Ozarks: The Mountains and Their Myths," Dr. Brooks Blevins, Missouri State University professor of history and author of the recently published "A History of the Ozarks, Volume I: The Old Ozarks," takes another look at a few of these episodes. In this program, Blevins dispels powerful myths and misunderstandings that persist even today, while at the same time revealing the region’s grand traditions and sweeping history.
