Airborne artistry - quite divine!
Joe L'Estrange seemed to be at one with the Vulcan, a majician who must have loved them to be able to get the most out of them yet make it seem so simple.
Odd (or even strange) that he retired and never surfaced to entertain us with tales of the flying triangle.

Joe L'Estrange, what he did not know about Vulcan's you could write on a postage stamp. I remember one year at Scampton, he took a Vulcan between two hangars and put it on it's tail, the noise was mind blowing.

very sad to hear that Joe has died. l flew with him on many occasions in the 1960s
