      @@rodrigoquiroz8816 there have been changes, but at the same time we don’t want to overstate the matter. The president’s approval rating is around 30% his allies hold less than 20% of the seats in the legislature. It’s a long way right now from a socialist takeover.

    Recently moved to the Envigado area 3 months ago and have to say. Everything you said is spot on. Rappi by far has been such a game changer for me. The rain has been pain in ass lately, but I can’t count how many times the Rappi has not only still delivered, but gave me credits just because of the wait! The drivers truly WORK for their money here. I was a good tipper in states and here even MORE. Great vid!

      Yess I’ve had the same experience. Luckily most of the restaurants and the Rappi turbo warehouse is near me. Regardless whenever there’s been a mistake they never hesitate to compensate with credits or chargeback to my credit card. I have so many lifemiles thanks to Rappi and Uber lol.

    Hi Andrew, I got scammed pretty bad in Medellin, I have been trying to recover my losses for about 5 months.
    I was wondering if you had any contacts with reputable lawyers in Medellin. Every lawyer I get connected to is looking to scam me even more one when they realize the potential for financial gain within the case. The lawyers think I am and idiot because I don't have a strong grasp of the language, but I can see through all of the manipulation tactics. I'm just looking for somebody honest and transparent.
    Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    • @MedellinBuzz
      @MedellinBuzz  2 місяці тому +3

      The ironic part is that it's Colombians that increase the prices as much as possible. Foreigners are just here to visit and pay. After all they're on vacation. La culpa lo tiene nuestra gente queue parece muerta de hambre subiendo le a todo, lo mas queue puedan. Lo bueno es que no es sostenible, eventualmente bajaran los precios.

    • @MedellinBuzz

      Yes, mainly because if you have a Colombia cedula it makes it easier to open up a bank account. You could transfer money to yourself from the US instead of using a brokerage firm. There are some steps there, though, so it's best to take the MedellinMasterclass.com and/or work with a lawyer.

    I wanted an opinion, Andrew. I love to tip down here because a small amount for me makes people's days. But I've heard other expats like Life With David advise against it because it accostums the locals to expect tips from gringos and lead them to bake in their own tips by default by offering us elevated prices. Thoughts?

    There seems to be quite a few people that are really playing with fire, deciding to move to Medellin or Colombia in general..
    You are talking about a country that is so dangerous that whenever you walk out on the streets alone and not necessarily just in bad neighborhood, but for men in particular, it is very dangerous...
    You can be in the best neighborhood in Colombia and still have the chance of getting robbed and killed easily if they noticed that you are a foreigner or if let's say you have messed with one of the girlfriends of the gang members that are out there working there is a chance that they will hunt you down if you're not giving enough money or if you don't do what the girls says.
    Obviously, the UA-cam creator of this channel looks like a local since he is Latino and he can pass for Colombian. I'm not sure what nationality he is or where he's from but for him life might be a little bit easier, but even that he still has the risks of things from other countries have gone through..
    It is definitely not worth investing time to move to Colombia I think if anybody goes and visit Colombia it's just to go with multiple people. You can't even get that drunk. You can't even wear certain type of clothing. It is extremely uncomfortable to be on edge like that....
    You might as well go to another Latin country nearby. If you're looking for a similar type of scenery like that of Medellin, there are other cities in Latin America. Yeah, it might be a little bit expensive to go to San Jose Costa Rica but at least you know you're going to be safer there than you are in Colombia where you can get kidnapped just about for anything especially to get money and drain your bank account and leave you stuck....
    These creators know that there are a lot of desperate men out there in which the main motive to move to Colombia is because you cannot find a girl or spouse in your country so you think out here it is so much easier.... let me make it easier for some people... Colombia, the girls are into their own men... Colombian girls are going to be loyal to Colombian men. No matter what..

      @MedellinBuzz  2 місяці тому +1

      There's a lot of assuming and misinformation going on here. Regardless, I understand it's your opinion (hopefully based on experience not just a couple of weeks stay, or even worse, never living here), 95% of all the people (including women and couples) that we've helped relocate are people who have been visiting Medellin for years. So it's not like they're going in blindly, that would be a mistake...anywhere in the world.

    • @overlookresident9862
      @overlookresident9862 2 місяці тому +1

      @@MedellinBuzz they even had travel advisories to Colombia almost every year. whenever you look at the topics of men that have been kidnapped and robbed or simply drugged robbed you will find out how many people are regretting visiting Colombia or our desperate to get out it is unbelievable. How many thousands of people are wanting to get out... obviously you fit in since you look like a local so it's completely different for you as it would be for somebody else.
