Kallarpe Making of stone grinder

Kallarpe is near to Puttur Town. Here village craftmen are carving granite stone for making Grinder.Stone grinder of Kallarpe is very famous as these grinders last for long.People from far of places give order for grinders of their choice. Purandhara learnt this carving from seniors and he is in this job for the last 30 years . SELCO has provided him solar power unit free of cost for upgrading his skill.
Purandhara says that youngsters are not taking up this job now.Now artisans of above 40 yerars of age are involved in this hard work. We supply grinders as wel as other ragi flour making stone and powdering stones.
