Yes you need backing on any American reel we use Japanese reels with shallow spools made for braid so you don’t need backing but yes you need backing on a size 1000 reel I would fill it about half way
Pros : cast ability its diameter is about the size of one pound mono so you can cast farther plus it’s definitely stronger and way more sensitive. Cons: the connection knots can be difficult at first I use a 7-8ft 4lb fluorocarbon leader and use a Albright knot to connect the two lines
@@GoldenStateFishing That’s awesome to hear. I have no doubt you nailed it. All your stuff is top notch bro. Baits, strand and rods. I can’t wait to add another one to my Katana rod collection. Tight lines
CrAzY crowded fishing these days... UA-cam, Macks and Covid changed fishing forever. Your braid looks great. A few questions. Colors matter? If so, what color for what conditions? Next you have it rated at 4 lb. Is that breakpoint of the braid or the diameter of mono equivalent? Price point seems more than fair TIA
Color of braid is just preference you must use a leader with braid I use a 8 ft 4lb fluorocarbon leader and 4lb is strength the size diameter is equivalent to a 1 pound test that’s why it cast so far .
Amazing baits and amazing squad gsf ftw 🙏🔥
Been using braid since day one! It’s a game changer! Great Vid, Congrats on another successful outing. 🤙🏽

Amazing day hell yea new vid 🔥🔥🤙
Good job man nice fishing 🎣

On the braid do you have to add say 8 lb mono backing before you put the braid on ? If so how much backing should you use ?
