Had this video recommended randomly, I must say this has to be one of the most niche channels out there, ASMR and 3D art. I love it! Not usually a fan of ASMR but I much prefer this over loud boisterous tutorials an workflow videos. Subbed
Could you do a tutorial on baking normal maps? For whatever reason I can just not get normal maps to look good. I use ZBrush to recreate my high poly. ZRmesher to get a lower poly version to take into Maya as a base for retopology. When I UV Unwrap the model, and use XNormal for the normal map creation it's just hideous and doesn't work good.
Thank you again so much for these awesome tutorials. I'm having a major problem though with Zbrush =(. I decreased my characters subdivision level to export it out to Maya to create UV maps as Maya's 2017 UV Toolkit is easier to use for me. When I reimport it back to ZBrush all of my subdivision levels are gone and it won't let me recreate them. So all the detail that I had at the highest subdivision level that I was going to use to make normal maps with is gone. =(
Are you importing your mesh over the existing one in ZBrush? Or are you importing as new subtool? The reason why you loose your subdivisions, usually, is because somehow your mesh has changed. Did you modify the geometry in Maya? Did you attached it to other objects? That would be enough for ZBrush to not recognize it as the same mesh.
God... I admit that i have still P7 not P8...but god... that small option in gizmo change totaly everything...I thought that You gonna use transpose master to move all tools at once but no... goooood. Btw, you could eventually blur your mask in zb, but i know, selecting from subdiv 1 and then move to highter subdiv give similar effect. Well... beside of that you use multi program to sculpt (i know, industry standard ) that tutorial is top shelf. You remember when i was surprised that you use Quixel...because i thought that you gonna use only ZB and Q to make whole project...meh... Mega thanks for your videos :) You are like Pavlovitch :D How many program you know ? I can quest but... 1) Sculpting: Zbrush 2) Big (i name them in that way): Maya 3) Topology: xNormal, quixel 4) Maps (propably substance painter) 5) Render: Octane Ps. You can't believe but over all that year...You convince me somehow to set up patreon profile and support someone by the first time. Once again, thanks for your work Riccardo
jurandfantom first of all I love your comment, it's great when someone shows some serious interest in my videos, so thank you so much for it! And yes, the new gizmo in zbrush is a game changer, before it was a pain to pose your character, but now it's a breeze! Still, for some situations I prefer the longer route with Maya. The setup is a bit annoying, but the result is much more versatile. :) And yes, I know many software, because for work I use specialized tools to do certain things, the list is quite long, but don't worry, I will cover other programs on top of the ones you listed, I have a lot of content planned for the future, so stay tuned! :) Thank you!
I am learning more with this video series than 3 years of CG school
Beautiful work!! Thanks.

Timothy Bell if you look at my "Mr. Incredible Part 17" video, I show how to bake normal maps using a free tool called XNormal, have a look! :)
