Another thing is, if your playing man coverage against a tight/bunch formation you should press the point man. Normally it disrupts the passing concept as the man on the line is likely going vertical
Good video. Someone else already mentioned it in the comments, but a fix you can use for the outside CBs is to put them in outside thirds when they are out wide. You are giving up anything underneath, but this can work well against bunch for example, because people don't really throw underneath to the solo receiver who is split wide very often.

I do this a lot but something I like doing against the snapthrow seam type guys is I put Diggs and Gillmore as my slot guys bc their length when playing under shoulder really takes away those throws. Leave my smaller guys outside (Bland / Lewis). Point is having length inside of the (red lines) helps a lot against the tight window throws and all I have to do as cap them as the FS.
Since underneath plays so well on madden u can go more help coverage deep and outside third the wide side cb, man the 3 rec on that outside wr and play underneath ….wide side deep help, all receivers underneath coverage on them more freedom on u to control middle and if no streak u can basically lurk any post or slant ….and make them have to have a perfect play to beat u
One thing I have been labbing is trying to simulate Saban’s C3 defense against Trips. Been hard to replicate, but I think I found something against 3x1. C3 Buzz and either user strong Hook or WS Hook to take crossers. If you user strong Hook or Middle Third SS then put WS Hook on Inside Quarter and he will match crossers. Can man solo WR with Corner. If trying it against 3x0 (Trips TE, Trey Y Flex, and etc.) then I would man #1, man #3, and can Vert Hook Slot CB, and have to user weak CB third because a TE streaking and RB to flat will still glitch out the weak outside third.
Also, regarding the under call effecting the outside corners in a bad way, I’ll often just put them in deep third or deep quarter … I think the quarter matches I’m not 100% sure been a while since I messed with it.
Wheel routes are really common and get destroyed unfortunately by shade underneath, so I'm assuming you avoid this for any kind of tight/compressed sets where wheels are expected? Or found another way to handle that?

Question for this tip here, let's say it's a 2 x 2 spread. could you do the manual assignment to shade underneath? that way you dont change the leverage of the outside CBs versus 2x2. Also not sure if you answered this in previous video but do you prefer to use Cover 1 Robber or Cover 1 Hole? seems like you are using Robber in these clips. thanks!
If I'm using this concept, I prefer cover 1 hole. If I'm playing cover 1 without the underneath adjustment, I like Robber so I can look like I'm in a double high defense presnap. Unfortunately, you can't really use this against 2 x 2 spread because when you press the underneath covereage adjustment, it's for all of the secondary. That is why when using this concept, I like to sprinkle it against formations that are tucked fully inbetween the numbers. Now, I have been fiddlying around with putting the outside corners in quarters zone while running this coverage in instances where we play against a 2 x 2 set. Kbtheghost says that when you do that, they play MOD . . . which is actually not to shabby when trying this.
Xando with another one, I’ve seen a few comments about outside quarter (hot route quarters) being a possible fix (bc if match is on they play MEG on the 1, with overtop leverage.) I still want to test it but is seems promising
I dont think it will work . . . because i remember last year when I tried to simulate pounder coverage . . . the quarter safeties wouldnt match at all because the original defense called was a man defense. Just going off of that, I bet it doesn't work. Because we are in man prior to changing them to quarters. If it did work....man it would be nice.
Putting your ends in qb contains has done wonders for my pass rush. I do it every play. Make it so the pocket collapses if you get push from your d tackles and also stops people from rolling out every play as a side benefit

This is my favorite type of defense. Sometimes using the Dline, with all these adjustments, can give opponents difficulty.

Deep quarters go MEG on #1 when audibles in. So yeah, you could make it work

So what happens if your opponent is playing tight with no wide outs does the whole defense play like the inside defenders
I guess you could always user the SS on the TE and manually stay on the hips.
