I recommend watching the original and after that the brotherhood but since you’ve already seen brotherhood then the choice is yours, the original would just explain most of the unexplained in brotherhood but the end would be much different since brotherhood is based on the Manga which did not have a conclusion.

After at least 12 years i've found this intro again and I'm so glad. Considering this is relevant (even tho it’s 2018), here are tips for people who are struggling. See the stats on the bottom right? You can actually charge those up with the ‘Charge’ command. You can charge 2 each turn. When the stat reaches its limit, it’ll tell you. This will maximize your Attack, Defense and Magic. I recommend you don’t use Thunder or Fire, as the True Guardian will use a strong attack right after. Save all attacking for ‘Attack’ (which will do almost 2,000 damage now) and all MP for healing. Use your Overdrive whenever it’s ready.

Whenever I think of the sonic rpg games this is the first thing to pop in my head love every moment of it
After at least 12 years i've found this intro again and I'm so glad. I've always loved that song but to me it has been lost in my memories, until I've started watching anime around 6 years ago and heard the fma op, but I never thought of searching "fma sonic song" as I did now, and being able to see this intro again it's so good, words just can't describe the joy I feel right now.
You did it, you found the opening of a game that lay in one of your deepest memories, you can be happy :)

Considering this is relevant (even tho it’s 2018), here are tips for people who are struggling.
See the stats on the bottom right? You can actually charge those up with the ‘Charge’ command. You can charge 2 each turn. When the stat reaches its limit, it’ll tell you. This will maximize your Attack, Defense and Magic.
I recommend you don’t use Thunder or Fire, as the True Guardian will use a strong attack right after. Save all attacking for ‘Attack’ (which will do almost 2,000 damage now) and all MP for healing. Use your Overdrive whenever it’s ready.
You can also Charge once, switch to OD, back to Regular and the Charge count resets but not the charges themselves. So you can max out, then attack.
