From Promenades to Comrades - Poland's Baltic Coast | Next Stop Everywhere

- Our Big Baltic Adventure takes us over the border into Poland.
The Baltic coast winds along here until it reaches the Russian border with Kalingrad, where unfortunately we can't cross BUT it doesn't matter... there's SO much to see here in Poland!
As we cross the German-Polish border we arrive into the stunning tourist-heavy beach resort of Międzyzdroje (complete with Hollywood-style 'walk of fame' and Danish-style Lego exhibition!) - perfect for a wander any maybe an ice-cream as big as Claire's head! (true story!)
Then it's on to the seaside-y delights of Niechorze where we pitch up at the gorgeous 'Camping Pomona' for a bit of R&R, and to get the washing done... needs must and all that.
Back on the road, we decide on an unplanned stop on a genuine abandoned Soviet air base, parked neatly on one of the massive runways, we spend the night at old Polish/Russian Kołobrzeg air base - where we investigate the military past of this fascinating Cold War relic.
And finally, another seaside stop sees us in the lovely sights of Ustka - famed for it's mermaid (excuse the fact she's topless eh!), quirky promenade and tour-boat-cum-pirate ship!
We've quickly fallen a little bit in love with Poland, and our next vid sees us hitting the cities on the Baltic coast too. Hurrah!

He said at the beginning that the rescuers welcome you in Międzyzdroje. The departments are brought from 10 am to 6 pm. The white flag on the rescue tower means that swimming in the sea is allowed, while the red flag means that swimming is not allowed.😀
Poles love jazz. You will hear a ton of it there, everywhere, I’m afraid.

Hey, touristic price in touristic place. With the same money you are able to buy in a market a box 500 ml of very good icecream. Single icecream at the stick for 2-4 zł. It's ca. O,50 - 0,80 £. If you like icecream pack your suitcase 😀. Moreover our beaches are very wide and full of gold sand. Only one problem, water is cold. 😯
If you like sand, you must visit Łeba. There are beautiful dunes there.

That campsite was such good value! And staying on that disused airbase must have been super interesting (even without the beach...). Bit jealous of that ice cream, hoping I've got a magnum left in the freezer.

This mermaid is from Polish legends. Orginally there were two sisters but one of them go North (to Denmark as I gues).

Till 1945 Kołobrzeg was a part of Germany so there was no Polish air force base there before WWII :)
