Snider: Mass For The Endangered - about the project

In March 2023, Phoenix Chorale took over the Great Hall at Phoenix Art Museum for an immersive performance of Mass for the Endangered by composer Sarah Kirkland Snider featuring the artwork created for the original album release by artist Deborah Johnson, aka ‪@candystations‬
For an ensemble historically performing only in churches, and one that had not performed with orchestra for over a decade, this was a true departure in ambience and acoustic. This film is a record of the moment.
(not in this video: the Snider project was paired with 'Dixit Dominus' by Handel, which also featured projections of original lyric videos created by Jacob McCoy).
