Bro the trade is invalid. The Pistons cannot trade their 2026 pick at all its owned by the Knicks. The first avaliable pick for the Pistons to out right trade is 2028 pick. Just because Detroit had a horrid season doesn't they should overpay for a player. 76ers don't have the talent on their team to trade. They dont have great draft capital so hiw will they outbit the Pistons in any trade scenario. Also considering the Pelicans they are still trying to compete. CADE a great player, But he in fact doesn't make his team better yet and he isn't a clutch player yet. CADE also one of the top 25 worst defender in the NBA and is developing bad habits with turn over and etc. The main issues with why he not helping his team get better is the fact he isn't playing with the team due to his healthy issues for 3yrs. Team chemistry is built with playing together. We also need to get off the bandwagon of build around CADE. Let CADE + IVY keep developing, and build a team first and see if Cade can fit that team. If he is an elite player no matter who he is playing with he can help produce wins.
They also need to get rid of Monty, and his coaching staff. Monty offensive system is hindering this team and relies on one star player generating offense leading to no motion in the offense, so player just stand around waiting on cade to pass with limited time left to generate new plays.
Brandon Ingram health should be a huge concern for pistons, you can not keep bring player over and drafting players that are not staying healthy. The main reason we are losing, is 2yrs of our core players, young and old not being healthy to even play games, for majority of of the season. IF you sign Brandon I. you have a team of CADE, BI, DUREN, STEW, ASUAR, Fontecchio, all that do not stay healthy, Minus who ever you trade for Brandon I. IVEY is more valuable to this roster just on his healthy alone. No player is more valuable than a healthy player that can actually play games that = wins. Which IVEY has shown he can do.

The stats and metrics simply disagree with. It’s shown that Cade is being let down. Rusty’s why he’s always at the top of playmaking and shot creation for teammate metrics.
You literally can’t argue against that, no matter your opinion. Go look at the Cade and Simone footage of their time on the court together… amazing what an actual shooter can do…

@@WoodwardPistons But you should care if Ingram and CADE can play together. If neither is healthy and never play together you still do not have a team and that doesn't = wins. You can not build a winning team with unhealthy player they will never build team chemistry.
I also disagree with nba level player. All the player on this roster made the NBA right or wrong. Skill set and play calling define a team, for multiple season we had bad coaching that had player standing at 3pt line waiting for their shot, and limited motion in the offense system. No player will thrive in those offensive system outside of the player that has the ball the majority of the time. You look at the team that are winning now they have player in motion the entire time on offense, cut to basket, back cuts, multiple pick to get player open. Where is this with pistons offense.

This show is exactly why I had to do videos on the Pistons. So much of these improvements are what the bad franchises do that keeps them bad. Giving up assets with an extremely high ceiling that supersedes and/ or matches the player being brought in is how people get fired in retrospect. Ingram has been injury prone in the past and if they don't make the playoffs by next season Ingram will walk for a better opportunity.

I appreciate your work, it's why I've followed this show. I said at the beginning of the season that the expectations you placed on the outlook of the season was setting fans up for a HUGE disappointment. Narratives are powerful. 30-35 wins I believe you suggested, I looked at the injuries to veterans to start the season, being the youngest active team in the NBA, and zero continuity from the season before from the offensive pecking order to the coaching staff and I said there was NO-WAY they get 30+ wins. The NBA is more competitive than EVER and this team was not ready to compete. I think the narrative should have been "Wow, look at these young players! Imagine what they will be collectively in the next couple seasons?!"

And I’ve played basketball in high school (all state), college (d2), pro-am, coached it, and run camps.
Just because we have different opinions doesn’t mean you know ball and I’m clueless. Why be disrespectful and dismissive in that manner?
By the way I led all of downriver in scoring and assist when I played.

If we drafting matas I feel like keep the 5th pick and trade wiseman Stewart Ivey possibly keep Ivey and trade ausar for a nice deal package
Maybe also get monk Miles bridges
Draft a vet min like Dwight to help duren and the team also mentally

Here’s the thing, build the team around Cade of course, Ivey/Ausar / Duren, keep them all but everyone else, get rid of especially Beef Stew, who’s not a starter . We need shooters, all this talk of getting rid of Ivey is foolishness. BI? I’m not trading the young fallas for him. Stew/pick 5 maybe Sasser/Wiseman whatever and I hope Trajan cleans house

Also, how do we even know that Arn Tellem is out here pulling the string? Was that ever reported anywhere?

    • @WoodwardPistons
      @WoodwardPistons  2 місяці тому

Yes I reported it as have others. when troy weaver was hired the official word was that Troy would be the GM (without the PBO title) working in tandem with executive Arn Tellem and Ed Stefanski.
Arn has been here for some time now dating back to SVG era. Once SVG (the last PBO the Pistons had before Langdon) was fired, Arn assumed even more power assuming the responsibilities of the PBO without the title.
The same way Ed Stefanski assumed GM role after bowers/svg were fired and before troy weaver hired.
The PBO has the final say and GM defers to the PBO, which Arn was acting as despite not taking the title.
Mark Stein also reported that weaver wanted to keep Jerami Grant but that people above him in the hierarchy did not want to. So he was shipped out. And Arn Tellem client Bojan Bogdanovic was brought in.
Tom Gores also stated Arn plays/played a role and would continue to lead the front office even after Troy was hired.
And there’s a lot of dots that lead back to Tellem as it relates to the players the Pistons have brought in during the Weaver era including Bagley, Danilo, Bojan, Wiseman, Blake griffin, even Andre Drummond getting the max (Tellems son works for Dre’s agency), drafting srvyidas (was Tellems sons first nba player he represented as an agent directly.)
There’s so much more I could list as well.
I’ll let you draw your conclusion.

      Via Detroit News:
Gores’ strategy for rebuilding the front office two years ago was built on collaboration between the key big pieces: Stefanski, vice chairman Arn Tellem, Casey and their direct reports.
When Gores targeted Weaver, it was with the understanding that he would fit within the existing structure and utilize the experience and feedback from the key stakeholders. Weaver brings the eye for talent, but working with the other key pieces helps to solidify everything and ensure everyone is going in the same direction.

      More via Detroit News:
“He’s going to get on the ground and know each player well and connect with (Casey) and so on and then as it bubbles up to ownership, Arn and I - if there's big decisions that need to be made - we’ll all gather.”
Tellem has a keen sense of the NBA landscape because of his experience as a former super-agent. His connections have benefited the Pistons in some deals, including getting Derrick Rose, who cited the relationship with Tellem as one of the reasons he chose the Pistons last summer in free agency.
Although Tellem runs the team’s business operations, he wears multiple hats, including representing the Pistons on the NBA’s Board of Governors and consulting on some of the major basketball decisions.

Trade Stewart and 5th pick and other draft compensation for Capela and Hunter! Sign Naja Marshall! All 3 three players are above on average defense Hunter and Marshall shoot 38% from three! Capela can mentor Duren! Capela is on expiring contract! Adds flexibility for next off- season! All three players are from play-in teams and can help us get there! Doing this will give us a little more time to see if our young players have improved and we make that decision by the trade deadline!

Stew is the best player mentioned in your post. And he shoots 38% from three.
Trading pick five for Capella and Hunter is like saying this pick has very little value... Which might be true. But there is no need to throw in Stew.

@pheralanpathfinder4897 I stand corrected Stewart is improving each year! I would like to get a defensive center ,that Duren can learn something from and Hunter when healthy is a better defender than what we have other Stewart and Thompson! 5th pick and cap filler should be enough to aquire those guys! We really do need another scoring threat!

Ivy, stew or duren and this year's pick. Ausar is more efficient in the paint than ivy and way better defender.
