I'm pretty sure the fretboard position and notes aren't exactly what you see in the tutorials. In the songs that I play I often change the performance to adapt it to my style and personal feel.

But, no harm in learning both ways(Improvisation is good). =) Gotta learn the entire board. Been two years since I started. So, just a noob, but getting better. If one day you post some videos let me know. I'm always curious to meet new people who have the same interest as me in the electric bass
@@schmitzbeats6102 Maybe yes... I don't listen music using the phone speaker because it cut all the low frequencies. When I listen music I use headphones or I link my phone to and external BT loudspeaker with a good woofer.
