So far I think my favorite book of the summer is River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross! I have never read a book that feels so whimsical and tender, yet a little bit dark and eerie at the same time. It is so good!
The Mill House Murders is both intense and excellent. There are minor references to The Decagon House Murders but you don’t need to read that book first. 😊
I think it's hard to schedule time so don't be hard on yourself❤ We all have to work so hard just to make it so it's understandable when we don't get to visit with our family as much as we want to- but I hope the next time you two do hang out it's magical! 🥰

My favorite book I've read so far this summer has to be A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. She has defiantly become one of my new favorite authors that I am trying to read everything from, but I do get distracted and am continuously adding books to my TBR every time I watch one of your video's. My goal by the end of the year is to have my physical TBR shrunk down so I can buy more books for the next year 🦕
I have been into the Cozy Mysteries since stumbling onto them during the pandemic....there are SO MANY!!! Just to show how out of hand things really are my local library has so many that keeps me going there and checking out books when I have so many sitting in TBR piles at my house! Having an used bookstore doesn't make things easier because you know I got to buy books to go with the books that are already sitting in the TBR piles. I am turning into a book hoarder! There are just so many books to read and not enough time. 🤓😂😂

I just finished a book called An Elderly Lady is up to no Good and it was so good. We meet this woman Maude who is 86 and so far she ahs gotten away with four murders I'm now reading the second one. It's called An Elderly Lady Must Not Be Crossed and it is just as good because we learn more about Maude.
The Body comes from a series of novellas in a book called Different Seasons. Stand By Me is only one of the movies created from that series. The novella Rita Heyworth and the Shawshank Redemption was of course turned into The Shawshank Redemption and the story Apt Pupil was turned into a movie of the same name.

I actually liked The Body. I grew up with Stand By Me so I was happy that it was very close to the book. I read that Stephen King was happy about the movie as well. I read The Mist last year. That was creepy but good.
My favorite book of the summer is actually not a new release. It’s “The One” by John Marrs. My most anticipated release for this year is called “The Last One” by Will Dean. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since I heard the premise: A woman wakes up on a cruise ship and her husband is missing. When she goes looking for him, she discovers that she is the only one on the ship (no other passengers or crew members) with no way to contact anyone for help as the ship sails further into the middle of the ocean. It comes out on August 8th and I’ve already pre-ordered my copy but I requested an ARC on NetGalley (I’ve never done that before) and they sent me the digital version so I get to read it now and I’m so pumped! You got some really great books in this vlog! Happy Reading! 💚
I love your coffee date with your dad! My Dad and I are besties. We both have degrees in English (although his is a PhD) and we both love to read, write, and sing/perform! I hadn’t seen him in 10 weeks because he was teaching in China but he just got back last night and I am so psyched, especially because we’ll be celebrating Father’s Day and I got him the coolest graphic novel version of Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson’s grandson Miles Hyman. The Ballad of Never After has been my favorite book this year so far. This is the second book in the spin-off series by Stephanie Garber! Super magical, toxically romantic....I loved ever second. This is part of the Caraval world and I do recommend reading them all but you do not have to read the main series prior to the spin offs🌱🍃🍀
