I just did this! i even used playdough and a toothpick to make 3D flowers and other nail art :) you can hit it with a regular clear topcoat once it dries or paint them too :) it's better they have a top coat (and a bottom coat) of clear nail polish because they do get soft in water otherwise but they totally look like acrylic nails
Here is an easier way to make life easier First put the colors that you want of play doh on your finger nails take a plastic knife (like the ones that come with the play doh pack) cut off the edges pat it down boom perfect play doh nails!!!! A way to probably fix this is to put a glossy/matte top coat on immediately. It will stop the playdough from changing.

You don't actually need the nail glue if you're only wearing them for a day but if you do it longer it's probably a better idea to apply some.
