- "Working on these really iconic recordings is an extra special thing because it’s a real true art form…” 🎶 Multi-GRAMMY award-winning engineer Bernie Grundman lends his skills to Craft Recordings' latest Small Batch release: RELAXIN’ WITH THE MILES DAVIS QUINTET.
We caught up with Grundman at his studios to get a sneak peek behind the scenes of his all-analog mastering technique and to break down the one-step lacquering processes used for all our Small Batch pressings.

Loved this one guys! I am hoping to get my pre-order for this one in today and thank you so much for upping your pressing numbers. I am sure this will quickly sell out like the Coltrane and Lateef.
Just heard about you all from Frank over at 33 RPM. Very informative and insightful video.
Thanks for sharing. Truly appreciate this!
Beatiful music I loved..
I look at what first and early pressings are going for and with my experience with Craft Recordings analog releases and with Bernie Grundman discs I have and $110 is actually a bargain though one that will leave a dent in my checking account!
I'm also eager for the upcoming King's X album as I've read that Bernie Grundman's team mastered it on analog equipment. Finally a mix that will do them justice!
absolute legend

The GOAT
What phono cartridge(s) do you use for first pressing playback so ‘average’ audiophile has a good listening experience?
I ordered one. Can anyone recommend a nice turn table in the $300-500 range that will bring out the best in these types of LPs?
I have a ProJect Debut Carbon with an Ortofon blue cartridge that I got for $600 that's worked great for me for years. Buying it was a game-changer. To stay under $500 you could go with the Fluance RT85 that comes with the same Ortofon blue cartridge. Don't go for big bells and whistles--it's all about having a good cartridge.
Is that price range for whole "out-of-box" system, or you consider separate costs for phono preamp and cartridge?
For instance, Denon DP-300F for about $450 it comes with built-in phono preamp as well as pre mounted cartridge.
I have an Original Of Relaxin will my OG sound as good as the small-batch you are doing of course without the pops and clicks??
a true Legend.
It's sad to see professional people like Mr Bernie Grundman working for a scam company like craft recordings. His work is great, though.
