    Thanks for the recipe! I made it for my fiance’s birthday and it tastes so good. This is coming from someone who couldn’t bake sponge cake properly but this recipe works! I leave the earl grey tea in the heavy cream overnight before whipping it just to get a stronger taste :)

    I made this cake for my mother who doesn't eat gluten so I used gluten free flour. It turned out so good, and very soft and moist for a gluten free cake! Loved it!

    Thank you so much for the recipe, I tried it and turns out good. Soft and the earl grey smells everywhere. I didn't add oil because I tried many recipe with oil and turns out bad but I did add baking powder.

    I made this recipe (and added lavender) and my friends and family loved it! It’s a bit drier than regular sponge cake but every bite was intense with earl grey flavour! Im an intermediate baker and I’m still thinking of ways to improve this. If there was a syrup added to the sponge, would that help with making this more moist?

      Oh... I'm sorry... I just saw the comment. Sorry to have waited so long. And I'm glad that your family and friends like it. This cake has a very good earl gray scent. It looks really good to put lavender there. To make the cake more moist, it is good to apply syrup to the cake sheet. When icing, you can sprinkle the syrup on the sheet and add the cream.       Unfortunately, it may taste different if you use topping cream. If you want to make a hard cream, whip more. It is okay if you whip it more tightly and use it.

      안녕하세요. Hr Lee님! 케이크에서 기름을 사용한 이유는 가벼운 시폰 케이크같은 질감을 내기 위해서에요. 녹인 버터를 사용하셔도 되요. 풍미는 좋아지는 대신 케이크 시트가 무겁고 덜 부풀 수 있답니다. 이 레시피에서는 시폰케이크처럼 가볍고 부드러운 점이 장점이라 식용유를 사용했어요. 그점 참고하시고 버터를 사용해주시면 될 것 같습니다! 영상 시청해주셔서 감사합니다. 따뜻한 하루 보내세여🧡

    Hi. Thanks for the beautiful video and recipe! I’m a new baker. I made the cake but it didnt turn out well. I’m not sure if it’s because I didn’t weigh my egg whites. And I used cake flour instead of soft flour. Is there a need for baking soda for this? I live in a tropical country and my cake turned out quite hard. Is there anyone else who could advise me on this pls? 😄

      Hi! Nice to meet you! Jae Ernyl~ First of all, I recommend using a large egg rather than a small one! And cake flour and soft flour are the same flour. You don't have to worry about that part. What I'd like to talk about is that maybe the meringue fell off when you put it in and mix it in the dough. This recipe should keep the meringue from sticking out when you mix it in the dough.     Hi! It says in the subtitles to bake for 40 mins in a preheated oven at 150 degress for 20 mins. So is it 40 mins or 20 mins? Might have been a typo 😊

      I have another concern, I made this cake today but it turned out crumbly and a bit dry. What could've possibly gone wrong? 😔 it's delicious nonetheless

      If the cake feels dry, you probably overmixed the batter. It is better to mix just enough so that the powder is not visible and bake immediately without touching it anymore. Next time, try baking a little more carefully.

    Looks like a nice recipe. Can I double the quantity of ingredients to make a bigger cake. Will bake in 7 inch pan. How long should I bake it for?

      앗.. 그럼 하나만 더 여쭤볼게용 2호 높은원형팬에 할껀데 계산해보니 1.6배해서 계란 5.4개가 나왔어용 이런상황에서 흰자 144그램하구 노른자 5개 넣는거 괜찮을까용??

      Hi! Tina Wang! 'Fresh cream' is a whipped cream with no sugar or additives! It's also called 'Heavy cream'! When you make whipped cream, add whipped cream, sugar, and Earl Grey together and whip! Another way is to feel the aroma of Earl Grey more strongly! Put Earl Grey in the whipped cream and cook over low heat! And cool it down in the fridge. Whip the cold Earl Grey whipped cream and use it for cake icing!       The reason why the whipped cream isn't hard is probably because of the hot weather! Whipped cream melts like ice cream on a hot day. So when you make whipped cream, put ice in another bowl and put whipping cream on top of it. And I recommend that you keep the finished whipped cream in the refrigerator until you use it. There won't be a big problem if you make these things carefully. You may not understand what I'm saying because I'm not good at English. Please understand. I'll cheer for your whipped cream, too!
