I like how you can tell the man to his right is his dad. He keeps looking up to him for validation and encouragement. Also dad keeps checking on him to make sure he is okay. It is so cute.

It is intense to watch. I love when natives teach their young traditions. It is so important to teach traditions so their history is not erased. I’m American and have yet to experience a Haka but before I leave this earth I WILL. Blessings

I feel the exact same..before I leave this earth I hope to see the Haka preformed in person..I know in years past many people felt they could not teach their traditions and culture because it was frowned upon..'you're in America live like that' but it saddens me how many generations don't know the languages the traditions..but hopefully with time and understanding people will realize yes you're in America but you also have strong ties to the past..be proud of who you are. What you are..and remember people lost their lives to make it better for the newer generations..give them the respect and blessings for who they was..the most important words..respect and kindness and acceptance. 💝

In New Zealand, we have "language nests" for pre schoolers to learn. These small kiwis are taught by the grandparents. Other native people around the world have copied our nests, from the Welsh to Native American tribes. Its passing on heritage. I'm European but my granddaughter is half Maori and at age nine speaks Maori very well. As she should in her own country.

Love seeing the Haka, pulls at the very heart strings of my humanity.
Something has just come to mind though,
these fellows probably do not snore at all when they sleep, even though a lot of them are a little on the large side.
The very exercise they're doing by all the actions they take in the haka, i.e.:
    Tongue manipulations,
    Throat movement,
Mouth manipulations when they call out the Haka,
    Stance,
    Breathing bursts,
    Warrior stance,
    Arm movements,
All movements are performed with zest and muscle thrust while burst breathing,
deep inhalation ... burst exinhalation to the limit,
Any movement one observes during the Haka attributes to exercising post that we in normal exercise do not use.
The only thing that feccs it up, is a modern western diet, (old European diets and ways not included).
Growing, eating and actioning a traditional diet with the exercise that performs it all into being, even in the tiniest of spaces, would change things health-wise for this beautiful warrior people.
The Haka though, is from something far deeper. I hope more people would realise that Haka's are a sharing from the heart, an expression of culture and time, not a performance.
    It makes all the difference.
