Steve Miller jammin blues with James Cotton. I mean that’s how great Midnight Special was. 👏🏼👏🏼🤟🏼👌🏼
Man do I love the blues. Thanks Midnight Special
Very cool Burt
This song was written by Jimmy Reed, a great, talented, Mississippi Blues Man! Blues- on my brothers!
and Sisters!
Not trying to be a jerk but Jimmy Reed's not a Texas guy
@@hubertsumlin9697 Sorry, my bad, he's from Mississippi. Btw, met Hubert Sumlin in 2008 when his & my band played the Doheny Blues Festival, & love his guitar playing!!!
James Cotton Band: Matt Guitar Murphy on guitar, Charles Calmese on bass, Kenny Johnson on drums and Little Bo (I think) on sax. Fuckin Steve Miller, please don't singing 😂
As Navin Johnson might say, “There’s something about that music that makes me so sad.” Well, at least “Big Boss Man” is upbeat, Navin.
That man was an emperor on that harp
The “Emperor” 👑 James Cotton has a very nice ring to it!
His harmonica playing is exceptional. It’s one thing to just play one but it’s another thing to be expressive with that instrument.
@@curtisphilumalee1447 Yep, James sure makes it “sing”, I love a good harp player, too. Thinking about Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger on Gimme Shelter/Midnight Rambler, Neil Young, John Mayall etc…
Check out that Gibson and those P90 pick ups. Man, I would love just to play it for a few minutes.
That guitar is beautiful.
At 1:27 he starts his solo. It’s not the greatest guitar work ever but I think it fits in really well within the context of the song. But is this the real Steve Miller? I think he had some great songs after this from memory.
@@Oklahoma-Dreaming it’s definitely Steve Miller. Steve Miller really took off around 1977 when he started to come out with his great hits like fly like an eagle.
@@JohnnyJimsAZ me thinks this was in his cow cow calculator days
When music had relevance..
I've had several opportunities to talk with James Cotton after He lost his voice. Hearing him sing has got to make you wonder how much more popular he could have been. He was a peaceful and decent from what I could gather from my conversations.
Know what I say to Big Boss Man? “You can take this job and, well, give it someone who wants this job, you mean, un-nice person!” Take that!
This is incredible! Look at that smile on Cotton’s face ❤
Steve has this smooth style on guitar
What kind of country bumpkin shit was that? Jimmy is turning over in his grave.
I had the I found a love LP on Veejay records and that was an insult 😢
Charlie Rich did a great version of this as well
I saw Steve Miller and Taj Mahal(sp?) at the Mt Baker Theater, 2006. Awesome show!!
as it turns out, b.b. king is still the king of the blues (well, maybe alongside muddy waters)...but james cotton is at best one of his attendants...but never mind.
Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cut
Thats not very good or entertaining.
don’t watch it then
@@harmonicabill good idea.
@@mom2eando it would be a small world if we all like the same thing. enjoy things that matter. spend time with family and friends. and yourself. love from England 🇬🇧
