Didn't know "Tunacado" was a "thing" but looks delicious! Honestly, reminded me of the pitas I often make up at home with sardines or tuna and whatever ingredients I feel like throwing in.
I've never heard of a tunacado either and I've lived in Miami since I was 2 years old . If you want a good sandwich in Miami you get a pan con bistec, pan con lechon, Cuban sandwich, or something similar. I'd pick any of those typical Miami sandwiches.
It’s not specific to Miami. It’s a sandwich from Joe and the Juice called Tunacado. I assume she just had it at a location in Miami
Well tuna and avocado is a well known combo in many dishes. Just a modern name for it
Yea took me way too long to realize that this wasn't some exotic cuisine but just a fancy way of saying tuna sandwich with avocado in it hahaha😅
It’s not a thing, just internetting like it is, low key trendy flex basically…
You know you’ve made it in the kitchen when your homemade food is better than what you can get at a restaurant, and start craving it more than eating out 🙌
The most rewarding feeling is when you reach a point where you stop getting take out or stopping at drive thrus when you know you make food better and much healthier at home.
This is exactly why I cook at home so much now…if I can make it better at home..I will 😂
I hear you Sister. When you go to a restaurant and buy cooked food, then when you get it, you realize that you can make it better yourself in your own kitchen.
How are ppl only realising now that we can make much better food at home and cheaper? Are ppl that laazy?
@@Press2GetTheCookie I think the point is that some of us see eating out as a splurge and it's literally the worst when you waste your money, not that we don't cook
Yes! I stopped eating out bc I can cook better myself than those restaurants, I always end up being disappointed
That's why I almost never go out to eat, because 99% of the shit in a restaurant I make better also you have to deal with the public which isn't worth it
I just made this because of your video 😂
The only difference is I added some Romaine lettuce. Damn fine it was too! It was for my dinner, I didn't fancy cooking tonight for a change and you saved the day! Thank you Sarah, love yoooou 😊
Same except no avocado, no green onions, no scallions. Added chopped pickle. Ate it straight from the bowl
I've got to run to the store for the fresh dill & green onion! Skipping the bread maybe having a cracker or 2 but it's going to be delicious 🤤😋🤤
@@Lma832 Scallions are green onions. In the UK we call them spring onions just to add to the confusion 😂
@@countryside_guy i meant green onions I don’t keep them
At home whatever you call them lol
The tuna salad recipe (minus the bread, avocado and tomatoes):
Chop up some green onions and dill
Add to a bowl with canned tuna
Good squeeze of lemon juice
Add some mayonnaise, dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt and red pepper flakes
Mix to combine
@@madmen8780 the pesto isn’t part of the tuna salad recipe, it’s just spread on the bread
@madmen8780 honestly I'm not a fan of pesto, so I.. accidentally.. "forgot" it lol
@@Ani98 haha, it’s not my favorite thing but I like it from time to time. I just hate how it seems that no matter how many times I brush or swish I still have that heavy taste in my mouth the next day. But that tuna recipe sounds delicious!!! And you can never ever go wrong with avocado!
Joe and the juice diss lol
@@fresitafawn I’ve only had it once and the one I had was good. I wanna try this recipe tho
I worked at joe and the juice for two days. Trust me the tunacado is literally nothing impressive straight tuna and mayo nothing else
Oh yes! That looks awesome. Full of flavour, easy to make, affordable and healthy too 👌
It’s a danish rye bread shipped frozen worldwide. The additional seasoning is the tuna is a nice addition.
Are you sure about that those just look like sandwich rounds that aren't shipped around the world and you can buy them in any American Grocery Store
@@jacquestube you are talking about the bread in the video, I am talking about the bread in the original sandwich from Joe & The Juice
Seems easier to cut the bread before you crisp it, but yea this is a great summer thing and I think Joe & the Juice is good too😅
Yup. I used to buy bagels outside, every time I would have to ask for more cream cheese, and every time, they would scrape it on the bread, even when I offered to pay extra for more cream cheese.
Started to make bagels at home since, never looked back, now I put on as much cream cheese as my heart desires ❤
dang i could actually make this, i love how accessible this recipe is ❤️
I didn’t k ow what to eat but most of the ingredients were right there thanks for the good idea!
Definitely making this for the summer
This is SUCHHHH a relatable feeling!
That looks really good. 😊❤
DUUUUDE you always make the best food, recipes
loving your content 👏🏽 🏅
How the voice over is so prefect like that♥️!
Oh my! I need to make this ASAP! This looks delicious!😋
Girl, your taste is amazing ✨
Tunacado? Finally found what’s been missing in my life. Your amazing 🤩 ❤
Omfg this looks amazing!
“Healthy” has a whole different definition in Miami… I gave up on them years ago 🤣
Born and raised there and there are Tonsss of healthy and delicious options.
what exactly is unhealthy about this? high calorie does not mean unhealthy
I just came up with this great pesto recipe. It's jalapeno cilantro avocado pesto with roasted walnuts roasted jalapenos parmesan cheese zest of lemon juice of lemon, a few cloves of garlic and some avocado oil to die for. I like to add a splash of rice wine vinegar too
This looks sooo good!
Wow, the algorithm is deadass on point. I just discussed with my mom yesterday about how I weirdly and randomly had a dream about this exact sandwhich. Ingredients down to a T. Jaw-dropping.
I don’t like tuna, but I can definitely relate to having to remake something from a restaurant at home because it didn’t satisfy your craving 😅
"tuna-cado" confused me cause in Australia we'd shorten it to "tuna-avo" hahaha 🤣😂
Never heard of this but now it's a must!❤
Looks great! Personally I don’t like hard bread so I’d use something softwer
Seriously! When she said toast it until its "cracker-like", i almost kept scrolling 😂 i wanted a sandwich, not a cracker dip
I just love that you use fresh herbs
That looks amazing!
Love your recipes …..I just subscribed to your channel ❤❤❤❤keep growing and keep making delicious food ❤❤😋😋😋😋😋
Tunacados are one of my favorite on the go easy healthier than fast food meals! My parents used to make them all the time when they were working in the fields and didnt have a way to heat food.
That looks really good 😍😍 I love it.
This looks fire.... perfect snack during a game. Easy to make. Thanks
Lately, well really since The LOCKDOWN 🔒, take out food is absolutely AWFUL, even at some family dining places. The people who work in these places don't give af about what they give you. They don't care about your specific requests at all. That's why 98% of the time, I cook at home.
@@Lioness_Es Yes! You already know if they don't care what they give you, they don't care if their hands are clean when they get it for you. I'm sick of all these places. I rarely eat fast food because it's really not good for you and mainly because of this.
Arugula would be a delicious addition! Looks amazing! 😋😋😋
I absolutely love making tuna sandwiches/salads🎉 it’s so easy to make and cheap! Especially with this summer heat wave I love making lots of cold salads/sandwiches😊
That looks so good I could eat that everyday!
This looks so good!
Wow, this looks so good! ❤️
That looks really nice and refreshing 😋
That’s looks ridiculously delicious!!!
This looks very tasty 🤤 I grow basil, garlic, green onions ,tomatoes ,lisbon lemons ,jalapeños and mint in my backyard 🤩Fresh Pesto in my kitchen currently🦋
I made it; I tried it, and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!!!
I would recommend for everyone to try it!
That looks so good!!
I usually make what I want to eat because I’m afraid of disappointment. Especially here in miami where it’s very expensive to eat out.
Tunacado sounds delicious 🤤 I need to make this for my family
Love those sandwhich rounds from Whole Foods! Could have been pita bread as well
For those of yall who dont like tuna, try it with canned chicken instead. It should be around the same consistency without the fish flavor some people dont like. I haven't tried this but it looks absolutely phenomenal and the second I get the time I am making this recipe. Thanks for sharing
I dont know if i am the one who feel restraunt never satatisfy me but when i cook it satisfy me more . Thats made me start to cook more diverse that made me learn to cook and fall in love .
Oh man! I just went to get seafood chowder at a restaurant recommended by some people on a Facebook group I'm with and it literally made my stomach turn after eating it. Not only that but it was disappointing because it hardly had any seafood in it at all! It was just pure milk.
I don't like tuna at all but this looks so delightful! What kind of tuna did you use?
I just tried it and it’s so good!
Nice video kudos for you 🎉I wish my better half made similar snacks like this one 😂
Exactly! So many underwhelming things. The reason most time is a person cannot function on such low pay. Believe there are some good places; yet the flashy bad ones still exist.
She assumed my family was fancy enough to have a panini press.😂 ma'am. I dont even seen those in my local store.
I got one for $16 at the hardware store! I hope one randomly manifests itself for you 😊
Well, she lives in Miami and actually paid someone for a tuna sandwich with some avocado. I bet she paid somewhere between $10 and $15 bucks for it and then supposedly went and bought all the ingredients to make it herself and eat it a second time. That’s a level of gross entitlement I will never understand.
Just fry press it between two iron skillets or use a brick works also.
Like even a George Forman grill. Pretty sure you'll find one or the other thrifting/Facebook. Even a toaster oven. Good Luck and Bon Appétit!
It seems like I'm more and more disappointed lately by casual restaurant good. Food is just not the same since Covid. Ona positive note, I'm eating at home more and saving money.
Whoa! This was a treat to watch! ❤❤❤😊
This looks so good
Do you have a pesto recipe? .. cause that looks divineeeee
Everything she makes looks so good. Like, how? Please, tell me your secrets. If you created a recipe book, I'd buy it.😋
It's probably far more likely that everything she chooses to upload looks so good. Slight difference from what you said, but big difference on appearance in the end.
The overwhelming majority of social media channels do not showcase their failures because they think it negatively impacts their image and brand.
You can find the link to her recipe book in the description of her long form videos - looks like it is selling through amazon
Your videos are Dope!! I just started my UA-cam food channel. Do you have any advice? Thanks 🙏🏾
Looks so good!🤤
Made it today 😊It was delicious 😋
Yum! Yum!! Thank you for sharing ❤️
Out of sheer curiosity, what made the bought sandwich disappointing? I’m not a big tuna fish salad person so I’m not a good judge lol
Maybe the one she bought tasted plain, so here she added red pepper flakes for some more flavour.
Generally they put in not enough tuna/avocado because that's expensive or go with really really bad mayo which can ruin any sandwich or put a massive amount of bread that overwhelms anything else, just to make the sandwich bigger and justify the price. So that's how you may get a sad sandwich
For me when I get a bad sandwich out it’s usually a big mouthful of plain, not great bread and almost no filling
With cooking like that I’m sure a lot of things leave you feeling disappointed😂
Yum this looks good. I love sprouts with tuna
I’d love to try this but with chicken. (I don’t eat tuna)
Girl u come thru every time. We have the same exact palette which is heavily inspired by popular takeout 😂 thank you for making the most simple to learn from content. I know a lot of work goes into making it so concise. Love you 🫶🏻🥰
Lately I have been doing the same thing like I don’t know if my cooking got better or fast food got worse 🤔
Yummmm!!!!! Thank you for the great video. Have a happy time.💜💜💜💜👍
I don't fully understand why Avocados are life changing with tuna salad, but they ARE!!! ❤
Thank you i know what im having for lunch!
You are simply the best.
That's delicious 🤤 thanks!!!
Oooh that looks good. I'll have to try something similar, just without the pesto.
“ Fine, I'll do it myself...”
Oh my looks so good
Tysm for salting the tomatoes, and it’s rlly nice how u say the whole recipe instead of “a lot of spices” 😭
So glad I clicked onto this. Having this tomorrow. ❤❤❤
Was this about a Dr. Smood sandwich? This recipe looks just like one of theirs, hehe
Joe & juice? This was my favorite one from them
Looks really yummy! 🥳
Funny enough I was trying to think of a high protein lunch to have while im doing my calorie deficit and this is going to be perfect!!
"man-naise"...😂
Y'all should try "reina pepeada" arepa, it's a Venezuelan treasure
That looks so good
Looks amazing 🎉
that’s the simplest sandwich how could someone possible disappoint someone with this
Goodness this looks amazingly delicious .
I had the worst disappointment with a dessert that I really wanted (I had to make it to satisfy myself)
Now try this in a big croissant, game changer
There’s no disappointment like craving something and finally getting it only to have it not satisfy your craving because it wasn’t made right.
Very much is that my experience 85% of the time I go to Dunkin Donuts to get an iced coffee.
Oh yes!!! Honestly I don't hesitate to complain 😂
Fr😂
@wyattmp go to a local coffee shop, it's gonna be better almost every time 🫢
Yesterday I ordered a McDonalds menu and they delivered the burger and sauce for fries but without the fries. That was actually the most disappointing delivery ever. Even fries without sauce is better
