There's a significant difference between being 26 and 40. When a person that old seeks a relationship with a 26-year-old rather than a mature persone in their 30-35s or above, it's evident that the persone is looking for someone more innocent and less self-sufficient. If you fail to understand what 'grooming' means and how often older individuals engage in it towards younger ones for their own gratification, then it's a serious issue.
I hope this is more of a teachable moment. Making fun of the elderly is simply not nice. As they get older, their minds digress and they begin to remember things from their childhood. Your aunt was probably traumatized as a kid. Its a kidnapping. How is that funny? Was it an awkward moment for her to bring it up at a lunch? Yes. But the subject in its entirety is not funny.
