Was really looking forward to this and was disappointed when it got canceled, but it is pretty awesome that we are basically getting a new and improved 2nd edition right off the bat. At least that is the way I choose to look at it :P
Thanks Mike, really enjoyed watching along. My only gripe is a nothing gripe...I wish the spiral binding was at the side allowing the whole board to be clear of the distraction. But that would mean having an A3 sized book and everyone complaining that the spiral binder should be in the middle of the board because the book is too big! lol So totally understand that design decision, but it's a pity the fab artwork is not seen in all it's glory. The game looks fab to play, too. It reminds me a bit of that game where Aloy climbs all over cyborg animals. (New something?) Great fun.
@@OneStopCoopShop I was thinking New Horizon, but that was a track by the Moody Blues! lol Yeah nothing is perfect this side of Heaven, as the Japanese apparently say. 🪷
Nice! I'm really looking forward to this game... I just wish that they would change the miniatures to look like they are actually climbing, instead of just standing there looking forward with their backs to the leviathan. That being said, I think the theme and mechanics of this game look great! Thanks so much and have a great day!
@@the_verTigO Stoked! Now they just need to get their arms up from just hanging by the sides of their bodies. No one climbs just standing there like that. I think it would do a lot for the theme and make it more exciting visually if they were in active climbing poses. But showing the backs is a big step in the right direction. Gonna be a great game!
What a cool game! Thank you for doing this playthrough! very excited to play it...i think my only complaint about it so far (is a weird one) and is that, as a climber myself, I think its weird that your climbers don't get hurt when they fall! i could totally see myself implementing a house rule about that because i think falling should be way more detrimental! but we'll see, i'd hate to make the game too difficult. i do really really like that if a player is defeated then he rest of the group only has one turn to win. i hate elimination games that just forces a player to sit there and watch for hours!
Thank you for another great playthrough. Do you think that this game will get a retail distribution in the future? (Production wise I can't see why not, unless I miss something..)
Hopefully! They are starting a reprint campaign with an expansion in August, so that’s probably the soonest chance to get it (besides finding a used copy)
Just backed the game a few hrs back looks good and your videos always help with the decision. Looking forward to this and Encounters Shattered Wastes coming to my door step next year 😊
If you crank the difficulty all the way up it can be super challenging, since they’ll be smacking you with enraged cards from the get go. I think the leviathans are nicely varied. But that’ll depend on your tastes. In the end you are always climbing and hitting crystals :)
Good question! Since there's no need to ever mix different boss decks together, that could make sense. Might be worth recommending over on the crowdfunding page.
Yeah, not sure on that. There are basically no effects that cause diagonal movement in the game, besides gliding and leaping, so I still think my interpretation in the video is probably the correct one, but we'll see what the final rules for pushing look like when the game is finished :)
There isn't one, and honestly, as much as I love true solo in games, I wouldn't want them to try here. The interplay of 2 characters with their movement and attacking, the fact that tons of cards for each character are meant to help others, and the way the leviathan strikes can hit multiple people are what makes this game really shine for me. If it was just one dude climbing and smacking crystals, I think it'd be pretty dull ;)

I support this perspective, though I imagine some people will miss the forced campaign mode :)

Horizon: Zero Dawn (and Forbidden West) and yeah, the spiral binding is a necessary thing but not perfect 😅

Moody Blues is all about Days of Future Passed for me ;)
This game is amazing! Thanks for showing it off! Entertaining playthrough!
I love it! Hope the new launch goes great

Huh, never thought of that (having the figures climbing) but that WOULD be cool!
A stretch goal has just been unlocked to have the backsides of the minis be printed with a back view!
@@the_verTigO oh really? Haha, that's awesome. CLIMB TO GLORY!

You can just pretend it's Breath of the Wild and you have a glider. Maybe that's how you do the glide action too ;)
Played this on TTS a couple times with a friend, super fun. Great playthrough, per usual!
You rule Mike, keep it up!
Thanks!!
I really hope this gets funded. Everything looks polished and ready to be played!
Me too!

@@OneStopCoopShop there's no rush really.
I was just wondering if there's a retail at the end of the tunnel..
Thanks Mike, you convinced me on this one. I'll be happy to back this and play solo or with friends
Hope you enjoy it!
Definitely backing this one.
Thanks Mike, what do you think is the ideal player count for the game?
I’ve enjoyed it 1-3. 4 player works, but could have downtime problems for some groups
Thanks Mike

That’s a great one two punch of gaming :)
Facts
The game should arrive tomorrow. Looking at this video to get ready 😊
Mine just arrived too!!
I've some questions: how difficult is the game?i like my coop games to be pretty hard.
How repetitive is it? are the leviathan different enough?
If you crank the difficulty all the way up it can be super challenging, since they’ll be smacking you with enraged cards from the get go.

Thanks for the review. 🙏 💕 God bless you sir. 💕
Will a picture of the boss be at least on the back attack cards? I hope so.....
Good question! Since there's no need to ever mix different boss decks together, that could make sense. Might be worth recommending over on the crowdfunding page.
Can't wait for this one!!

Near the end I think away from the vent would push you into the air

I think so long as the final space is more spaces away then the initial space its fine.
That was my guess/interpretation
Is there a true solo option? Is it good?
There isn't one, and honestly, as much as I love true solo in games, I wouldn't want them to try here.
