Mate you done the one at Dubai autodrome? I experienced it last year keen to go back and do that and this one at Abu Dhabi it looks unreal and great vid by you
@janjay666 thanks bud, if I'm honest I can't remember 100% I think it may have been included. They've got a really good WhatsApp chat that are helpful if you wanted it clarified
Hi friend! Great video! As I understand it, there is a clutch pedal, which is used only for starting off. Then we drive like in a car with an automatic transmission. And as I understand it, there are paddles for upshifting or downshifting. could u say me, does the car change gears itself or do I still need to control it and change gears myself by using paddles?
@miqdadt3747 it was a super long time ago so I don't not remember. I opened it on my phone and saved it. Have you got the link of yours? Send me an email with it to auzzam_crd@hotmail.com
Man, I want to try this next week but no slots at all. Is there anyway I can get a last minute ticket for this from somewhere? I am ready to pay extra too!
Thanks bud, anyone with a license can try, if you've driven fast before / done a trackday that is a plus. But you can obviously do everything at your own pace so I wouldn't be put off it, it's a fantastic experience. (So no lol, don't really require the race car experience beforehand)
You drove the car manually in the driving process. There is two pedal in Formula 1 car. One of them is brake and the other one is gas. Formula 1 drivers use their right foot to push the gas and their left foot to use the brake. My question is, how can you use the clutch if there isn't any third pedal under your feet?
There is a third pedal off to the far left. That's why it's dangerous as some people press the clutch when trying to slow down and it sends them into a spin. This obviously isn't a full on F1 car so that could account for the difference in pedal layouts
Sir Thank you so much for the fast response, Basically what I understood is that the only time the driver uses the clutch is to move away from a stop (only be used when the car is pulling away from a standing start, and it is not there to help with changing gears when moving).@@CRD90
Hi , I am going to try formula 1 car in Yas marina, ofcourse I have never driven one. I know it can be scary could you guide me through the whole kick off procedure especially how clutch works. I am confused have we also got clutch in the pedal area ?
Yes there is a clutch pedal in the car. It's only used to move from neutral into gear and move. After that it's just like an automatic car with paddle shifters. Don't be put off by it, the staff are super friendly and it's not that difficult at all 👍. Just don't press the clutch by accident whilst the car is moving - that could get messy!
so the clutch is positioned only behind the steering wheel and not the foot area where normal car's clutch is present ? I have also seen that Two clutch paddles are present on the steering wheel, one on either side, how do they both correlate ? Thank you for your prompt answers :)
I just did a drive at Yas Marina Circuit. You can’t download directly onto the IPhone. However, you can open the link and download onto your computer first then onto your phone afterwards.😊
As long as you can drive paddle shift you should be fine. The clutch is just to move off, once the car is moving its like most modern day Paddle shift automatics.
Awesome thanks for the reply!! I was looking to go tomorrow. My car at home has paddle shift but when you talked about the briefing I got a little worried 😂.
@oliviahand7043 lol no worries bud, just remember not to touch that extra clutch pedal at any point other than moving off. That's the highest causes of crashes there. People press the clutch instead of braking 😔 You'll love the experience though, I can't wait to go back
@@CRD90 Hi dumb question but i assume is kmh not mph right? Does it tell u when to shift up? Also is there anywhere to put a backpack or can u keep things in pockets like phone/wallet underneath driving suit?
Hi there, I think if you've done a track day or two before it will definitely help. Also it depends on how confident you generally are.. The cars are very grippy although if you have never counter-steered before you may be caught out! To put it into context, I'd never driven a "race car" before this but I have pushed my own road car at trackdays and experienced what happens with too much throttle coming out of bends etc. If you're not a very confident person I probably wouldn't advise this.
Hey, I'm going to do that in one month. Birthday gift of my gf and to be honest I'm already a little stress. i wanted to know, are there indications on the dashboard when to shift down or up ? I'm driving manual car for 14 years now but I'm gonna be like a kid full of stress 😂 Thanks for the important thing to not to do : don't use the clutch during the ride, so no using my left leg, I get it. Thanks for your video, big help ! And another thing, it's just the instructor and you or other persons behind you ? I'm scared to be slow and ruined the experience of other persons you know.
You were very lucky or I didn't have any luck at all. I was there last friday, we were 3 behind one instructor and all the laps were so slow... Nice to be in the circuit in that kind of cars but the driving was a complete disapointment.
Thanks! It definitely had a totally different atmosphere driving under lights - that made for a really enjoyable experience. The circuit itself was perhaps lacking some low speed bends in comparison to Silverstone which has a nice mix of both high and low speed sections. In regards to the cars, I did leave this event googling how much it was to buy a formula 3000 car 🤣
What a great experience! Ive been to the Abu Dhabi GP a couple of times now but never done this experience….maybe time to get over there again 🙂
Haha yep definitely worth doing, I'll probably go for it again the next time I'm there. Now that I won't be nervous for the first 10 minutes 🤣
Can we connect our own GoPro’s or other action cameras?
Unfortunately not

Great video, regarding the clutch and pedal layout. Did you left foot brake or right foot to avoid the clutch pedal?
@kyleash3614 thanks! left foot I think similar to go karting
