--------
Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd shared insights into the making and success of their debut album "SremmLife." The duo's journey began with their signing to Interscope, just as their breakout single "No Flex Zone" was on the verge of release. According to Slim, working with Mike Will Made-It was a significant milestone, given his collaborations with big names like Gucci Mane and Juicy J. The move from mixtapes to a major label led to the creation of hit tracks and highly produced music videos.
Slim reminisced about the unexpected success of "No Flex Zone," which soared to number 36 on the Billboard 100 and went triple platinum. Their debut album, "SremmLife," exceeded expectations, producing five double-platinum singles, including "No Type," which peaked at number 16 on the Billboard chart. Collaborations with stars like Nicki Minaj and Pusha T further amplified their success. The album, which debuted at number five on the Billboard charts, marked Rae Sremmurd's triumphant rise in the music.
That album went quadruple platinum on college campuses during that time
The 3rd member of the group that left is definitely punching the air right now…. 😂🤣
Most music groups go through alot of line up changes b4 the break through
He punch in the air rn too he wanna b as hot as bro but he jus not ppl don’t wanna see him
@JonSerrato 😭😭😭his brother could only drag him so much
Bet his asshole still intact unlike these guys , so who's really punching the air lol.
2016 - definitely was punching the air. He good now.
They are so underrated : How many Rap duos have 3 platinum albums 12 platinum singles and 5 gold singles and not counting the collaboration that swae lee has with post malone french Montana and Sativa. If they were from New York, LA or Atlanta they would get more respect
Rae Sremmurd really had college cranked up
Lit Like Bic is my favorite Rae Sremmurd song. Such a 🔥 intro
Throw some more was so hard
Im old and I liked no flex zone and no type . Oh yeah and that one where they asking "by chance" in the course 😂
Look Alive Look Alive
MISSISSIPPI STAND UP ‼️‼️‼️
Vlad love giving himself credit for things that nobody else will back up or validate Lol
Telling this man that his vladtv interview was their 1st interview ever just because he thought they sat down with him 😂😂😂
Back when kids could make fun music. Everything wasnt about killing someone...
Rae Sremmurd are a couple of legends.
Damn we already got to the reminiscing era of Rae Sremmurd??
manes gotta spend some time in tupelo to get their sound back.
Why he dressed like the Kermit Star Wars meme.
He's well spoken
Vlad does these interviews so he can sneak in his personal stories, views
I aint gonna lie that time was amazing when that album dropped they changed the energy in rap at the time
Go crazy! Yall killed bruh! Salute!! This could be us was my shit in follies. Fell in love to that song lol
That first album a classic
Legend
Rae is not him
Classic Album
The real question is why can they not make hits anymore like they used to?
goated
Vlad always wanna be the reason a artist is on 😂😂😂 “we did interviews b4”
That first album was 🔥🔥🔥
hes aging well, literally look he same from 10 years ago
He’s bald 👩🦲
The fall off is documented
Srum life 3 album just went platinum
Throw some Mo’ was the worst song on the album and that was a banger, whole album was 🔥🔥
You’re tripping, lit like bic and up like trump were legitimately trash
My boy don’t remember shit
1st
🍪🙄
@@jaye5926 thank you 🤣
They went from nothing to something to nothing
They are still rich tho
B2K still rich too huh 😂😂
2:36
Vlad: And that ended up being your first interview… ever.
Slim jxmmi: we had been interviewed before though. 😂😂😂😂😂
lol just wait til he learns that Migos interview he did wasn’t actually their first either
Vlad was so mad when he heard that !😂
"OK got it! got it! GOT IT!"
Dawg they had a lot of hits 😂. Damn I forgot about a lot of these song s
Was barely listening to any new music in the 2010s, especially from younger artists, but they were an exception.
Swae Lee was couldn't miss when it came to hooks.
These dudes were trash💯😭just club hits
@@Dipset415 I agree overall. Like I said it was just the hooks that caught my ear.
🗑
@@Dipset415Not trash. Rap is more than lyrical spiritual miracle sh*t.
@@FAKESAP_Copy it’s called rhythm and poetry 💪🏿not I can’t sing but throw on some autotune and imma say some dumb shit over and over on trap beats🫵🏿😭
Even though I never listened to any of their albums this is one group I do respect out this generation. They had their own style and they was cool as hell and they stayed out the way.
You trippin they albums be having pain on it Brodie that’s why they still here
Sremmlife was a moment in time high school days
That got 2 feel good from being homeless to a superstar unbelievable 🎉
They was running the game back in a era when you had thug nicki drake fetty rich homie and chief keef with anthem songs. I thought they would last even longer but music evolvs fast i still listen to them every once in a while. What made them unique was most of their fan base was kids and teens but everybody liked them. It was the wave of rap at the time
They still do alright, they had a video out less than a year ago with 30+ million
I think they didn’t last longer because they used to take those long breaks between albums so it made it easy to forget about them.
They were hot from 2014-2019. Honestly that’s a long time at the top for a rapper. Those SoundCloud guys like lil pump that came after them lasted less than 2 years.
I miss that era of hip hop 2013-2016
I bet you do Josh.
What hip hop lol
@@YOUNGC1010 😂
Shit was trash
You mean mumble rap/singing rap bullshit
"what it your first interview"....I don't think he got the answer he wanted.
Swae lee def saved that group.
@@johnwilliam5689facts cuz ppl still don’t know who this dude is
That first album went diamond on college campuses
They coined the term “it’s lit” too. Black Beatles was out of this universe.
Vlad needs to interview Mike Will or Rocko
I think he did rocko already way back . Not Mike will ithink
Hits on hits.
They was lil weirdos in the beginning lol😭😭
At 18 and 19 most of us were still little weirdos or at least childish
N once Rae dropped him he blew up
@@shottakush8404yes and no, I think they were just a crossover of two different generations (Z & millennials) which in terms of energy and presentation it definitely was weird but to their credit it was definitely unique. The teenagers from the previous generation were all about looking impervious, beyond years and stoic to define their coolness. These two embraced more of a juvenile high energy black beach boy look…
That album is fire
This boy here needs to be on Young Thug trial he can't remember shit
😂😂😂😂 his music dirt roo
His first album was the best at that time 💯
I’ll tell u when you’re wrong.. I’ll tell u when you’re right.. good shit Vlad no bag handed compliments.. just giving ur guest their just due

Crazy how the looks are the same but the price is different. And assume it is softer and more comfortable
Lol sorry Vlad they did interviews before yours, your not the first.
If this interview ain’t motivation I don’t know what is 💯🔥🔥🔥
Vlad is 2 loud
Are you trying to say he's angry are something? I don't understand what you mean..........
You couldn’t find a party or club that wasn’t playing these guys.. No type & No flex zone especially, black Beatles took them outta there tho
most overlooked group
This the 🥷 that beat that girl bloody smh
Facts n his music trash we all was listening to Rae I new skipped verses so fast 😂😂😂
Calling Pusha T a megastar is nasty work.
LOL VLAD ACTING LIKE HE DONT KNOW WHO INTERVIEWING
Ngl dem boyz had hits
Their first album made high school for me. No misses on that project
His brother is way better then him 😒
I feel like he must know that 😂 it’s gotta be a reason he doing this interview and not his brother
@@joojoobaw facts 👍
His brother is better at hooks and the melodic stuff, but I prefer his rapping. I wouldn’t listen to a solo album, but he definitely added to the songs.
Like he dragged him once he stated makin music without him the quality got way way better
“lil bitty bx wanna hop on the dxck im like bool let’s get it, let’s get it” thug went crazy on throw sum mo
Vlad said he’s been in the “music industry” 😭 for over 20 years
Vlad building the story up to eventually lead to him revealing that they went broke.
The third member moved and now is a buddhist Monk 😂😂😂😂😂
Crazy these mfs MULTI MULTI PLATINUM
These MFs where on FIREE, they where on top of the world sheesh
5:49 Free Young Thug
They was like a new Kriss kross type ish
They took over
yeahhhhhh🔥
These guys are legends for their era
I don’t care what some people say about you Vlad. I have always loved your channel and your content. Your work is thorough and non- biased. I know that Trap Lore Obessed with Chicago Ross and Akademiks GoneOffDatHennessey are your friends but let’s start a petition to have them banned from all platforms. Since they love talking about drill so much…and think it’s a game, we could… (nevamind. Shhhhhh 🤫🤫🤫 . I got a fail proof backdoor plan. Nobody will ever know it was us!!!
And tell your Lil Fat buddy that none of us here in Chicago forgot how he played in our face with that war in Chiraq BS and in the tradition of the now deceased drill movement, we feel compelled to take him out for coffee and donuts..and McDonalds. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
You’re a weird one aren’t you
@@joojoobaw You know what? You might have something there 🫣🫣🫣
Biggest example of wen one person carrying a music group cuz who is even him n once bro dropped him he blew up
Swa lee solo career has not blown up he was much better in the group. He let French Montana and other less talented artists use him and damaged his group brand
