  • The end of Thru to 6 on LWT and handover to TVam one Sunday morning in 1988. Thru to 6 was the nigttime strand that filled the gap between Night Network and TVam.
    Contains adverts for:
    Sunday Times ('The Perfect Sunday')
    Duracell (chick hatching)
    Melita Coffee (Keith Floyd)
    Cadburys Crunchie.

    I would probably say January or early February 1988. The programme ending is copyrighted 1988. ITN’s Morning News didn’t start until mid February. TV-am also appears to be still strike affected here.

      I hadn't clocked the copyright date, title updated.
      I'd have thought it was in summer 88 considering Tommy Boyd's playing tennis, seems an odd thing to do in February. Did they do Morning News on weekends?

      @@LuthansaTerminal Good question, from memory the ITN Morning News was as far as I’m aware 7 days a week from its inception. I’m guessing there’s nothing more of the TV-am clip which could possibly identify a date?

      @@steviegTVreturns Morning news was a 7 day service from its inceptions in Mid Feb 88. As you rightly say its somewhere in Jan or early feb 88/.
