It’s funny because as soon as you mentioned Jones soda in a can, never in my life have I ever once seen it in a can except for in this video, so just goes to show that it really was just entirely a waste of their money time and energy to try and compete with the big bottling companies.
I was surprised to see the fall part of the title! Jones is sold at my local grocery store in Ohio. They actually just did ANOTHER Fallout Collab flavor within this last year.
Yeah, I always only saw them at the “weird” part of the soda isle, when I was kid, and I think the only advertising I ever heard was a radio show talking about their turkey soda.
Jones isn't dead, They're still widely available here in the Seattle are and by web order. As for the whole can bit, It was just because soda HAD to be sold in either cans or plastic at Safeway. And since Jones at the time was only sold in 12 oz sizes at the time, cans it was!
I actually picked up a few bottles of the Jones Nuka Victory Cola at the World's Biggest Candy Store in Minnesota. Pretty good stuff! Even held on to the caps...for obvious reasons. FUN FACT: The IRL value of a Cap from Fallout is around $3.45, if internet nerds are to be believed. But that's only in game, not IRL.
Jones is still around. And at least in my area still as popular, or unpopular, as it was in the late 90s and early 00s. If I had to guess why they aren’t super popular I’d say they’re expensive.
Back in the late 2010s I had a restaurant in Los Angeles that served Jones soda. They were super great with getting me product that I needed, but it was pretty clear that they were suffering from growing pains. Too bad, they were good guys.

Their infused sodas "Mary Jones" are the best tasting drink of all the weed drinks we sell, BY FAR😂. We have Root Beer, Orange cream, Sour Apple, Lemon Berry and MF Grape. The best
I'd love to see a video about Big Red. I grew up drinking it, and I'm the only person I know who drinks it... It's supposedly "red cream soda" but it tastes like bubble gum. And I used to mix their Big Peach flavor into cola to make peach cola. (It tastes better than you would think.)
It definitely doesn't taste like BubbleGum. It's better than any other CreamSoda, though. There was a Big Blue, and it has a lot more of the CandyCigarette taste that other CreamSodas have. CreamSoda is very mid, IMO, but I love Big Red.
I only know of them because of flavors like DePeach Mode hehe love that band or that bizarre line of sports themed drinks that didn't sound appealing at all. I never tried or seen one in person though * shrugs *
You forgot a few details. Jones also did a deal with 7-11 to distribute unique flavors in their stores. I know it happened in Utah but I'm not sure it happened anywhere else. Jones also does fountain drinks at a few areas in Seattle as well as the Seahawks. There's a little In-and-Out clone in Seattle called "State Burgers" that serves Jones fountain drinks.
What about Jolt Cola? When we were kids, we used to drink a 6-pack of Jolt and play backyard tackle football for hours....We became a wild pack of Tasmanian Devils. Jolt Cola slogan: "Twice the sugar, twice the caffeine."
That turkey dinner set was absolutely disgusting. The only drinkable flavor in it was the cranberry sauce one. I finished drinking the entire set, except for the Brussel sprout one; I could drink no more than a cap full of it before pouring it out.
It’s weird watching some of your videos cause some of the things stated here as being “dead” are fully alive and well in here in Canada and I have to remember your mostly talking about the American market.
I used to get it at a salad place in the 90s. One of the most amusing flavor names I liked was "Fufu Berry"! Haha! A friend of mine actually got one of his pictures submitted on a bottle!

Word of mouth was truely the way Jones made its mark. Growing up in Washington, every kid at school talked about the bubblegum flavor they had. Even as an adult, I have friends far away from Jones main distribution range that know of it and grab it when they can.
I remember that Nuka Cola launch. Stuff sold out in about two minutes. If you weren't in a Target when it went on sale, you didn't get any. Heck, you might not have gotten any anyway.

I liked the design & marketing styles and creative ideas, too. I don't miss soda one bit. But I do feel badly for folks and families who lose their jobs & livelihoods. Glad to see Jones brand has come back for that reason.
I used to occasionally get a Jones when I was a kid. They were a bit pricier than a regular soda, but it was worth it; I liked their bubble gum and cream soda flavors the best, and I always thought they were solid, back when I drank soda. They haven’t really died, here in Oregon, plenty of stores still stock Jones, still at a higher price than your average Coke or Pepsi. As a rule of thumb, I don’t drink soda anymore, but it always makes me kind of want to see if their cotton candy flavor is still good. :)
The best soda I ever had only lasted for a few years. Back in the early 90's. It was called "Passion Supreme" by Snapple. it was in a glass bottle and it was unlike anything you've ever tasted.
I liked their Natural Root Beer in the same glass bottle back in the 90's. Both probably got discontinued at the same time. It was a clear Root Beer, too. Flavor was so good and still haven't found anything similar.

Green apple, cream soda and the standard variety is probably the best. They need to add butterscotch to their lineup. Too bad general availability is not easy to find these days.
