What a lovely boy Stephen is. What a terrible tragedy this is. A heinous crime that needs redress. He was blessed with an intelligent and loving Mother, clearly.
Stephen was openly gay. I believe Buster had sex with him. Panicked and Buster either killed Stephen or had someone else kill him. Stephen was loved by his classmates and very smart and wanted to be a doctor. Stephen and Buster had gone to school together for years.

The lawyers at the table are the kinds of men I hope I’d have the pleasure of being represented by should I ever need a lawyer. No one is perfect and mistakes happen, but what you choose to do and say when you know one of your colleagues is completely out of bounds, speaks volumes about what kind of person and professional you truly are. The gentleman who said he is Angry, really hit the nail on the head regarding what Murdaugh has done to their profession, their clients and their town. Kudos. This is a very good special.

We used to joke that if a person wanted to get away with murder they should come to our rural Texas county. Several years down the road my niece, her husband & their 5 year old son were beat down & their house set on fire with them in it. It was immediately called an accident & there was no investigation. By the time there was years later (not by locals) there was no evidence. Only a confession might bring justice but that's not gonna happen.
@@Guinnivere Thank you Jennifer. Dec 27 will be 26 years but it's still hard to believe. The saddest part is their 13 year old son that was away from home that night. His life has been a living hell.

As a licensed funeral director, I have come into instances of families pre funding & pre-arranging funerals which is legal, but the funeral homes would use the personal information the families shared to take out large life insurance policies on the pre arranged parties, unbeknownst to the insured. Most times the insured is elderly, might be near death , etc. very vulnerable. The funeral home has no business making money off people who trust them without their knowledge, but oddly enough there is no law against this.
@@SilentWeaponsQuietWars Yeah, I wondered about this as well. Where I am located you can’t just take out life insurance on anyone *without their knowledge.*

Order in Hampton County will be restored and all citizens will be better off because of it. Ms. Sandy is such a wonderful, strong woman and she deserves justice for Stephen. Alex M. was not an opioid addict. That lie does a disservice to all us who were, via legal prescriptions, but then overcame dependency without lying, stealing or murdering.
Yea I was a addict for 11 years and I would have NEVER thought about killing my mother or brother or now my son (if I was still an addict) for ANY reason, addiction or not…. Alex is a scumbag, honestly worse than Chris Watts in my opinion.
I concur. I survived 14 years of drs feeding me opioids after a burst fracture of my L1/L2 vertebrae. Finally behind me now with help of a new dr. No way he detoxed done quickly in rehab after a supposed 20 yr addiction. I’m calling BS on that too
I agree with the Black male who was Alex's long time friend; Alex may have become addicted to opioids at some point in his life. He also has been alleged to be a drug kingpin. The man had a high six and sometimes 7 figure annual salary from his law practice and then stole close to 10 million dollars (that they know about) during the last 5 years. He should have a PhD in financial engineering, but he must be the poorest drug kingpin on earth. There is a lot missing from this story. A profound drug addiction would not account for that much money. There are, however, other addictions (such as gambling) which could consume an infinite amount of money. What happened to all the money obtained legally and illegally by this infamous disbarred lawyer?
@@SouthernComfort707 exactly. And there is talk of high priced call girls as well. This isn’t even close to over. But, the residents may not be aware of it until it's too late. EVERYTING about this community needs to change; the lawyers, the banks, the politicians, the media.... everything.
Just to hear R Murdaugh called the Smiths and R & A Murdaugh were at the scene. Why would they be at a hit & run scene of Steven Smith so quickly ? Shivers for real.
That is creepy
I was thinking the same thing. These people are unbelievable and shameless.
Way back when, attorneys that did that were called ambulance chasers. . . No attorney worth their salt would want to be in that category.
Scum ambulance chasers.
Great job Mandy and Liz! This case is the most complicated murder case I’ve ever heard of.
I didn’t know the time line for all these deaths around this family. It makes sense finally.
NOT complicated at all!!! Alex DID IT!!
I really like seeing this lovely southern woman being so openly loving and proud of her gay son
I didn’t get to watch it Sunday night. Thank you for posting this.
What a lovely boy Stephen is. What a terrible tragedy this is. A heinous crime that needs redress. He was blessed with an intelligent and loving Mother, clearly.
My heartbreaks for this family and has since I first learned about Stephen ❤
Stephen was openly gay. I believe Buster had sex with him. Panicked and Buster either killed Stephen or had someone else kill him. Stephen was loved by his classmates and very smart and wanted to be a doctor. Stephen and Buster had gone to school together for years.
Damn. Sandy is so strong. My heart aches for her.
Praying for you sandy may God bless you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
So interesting to watch this after the guilty double-homicide verdict (& after many, many, months of watching from the UK) The Murdaugh Murder Podcasts, thank you and much, much, respect, gratitude and condolences to so many involved in this video. Continuing to follow the various cases and trusting that JUSTICE will follow for all involved. Jx 🙏
Mandy was instrumental in bringing this to light. Thank you!
These poor families!! 💕💕 The trial is going to be crazy, that you Mandy and Liz and Eric for all your coverage!!
I agree it should be crazy but I don’t feel like the prosecution is doing a good enough job to convict! It makes me crazy.
@@lisabowden402 I think they did a good job of pinning down the cell phone locations connected to Alex's car. And the Kennel video was key. But I think the CSI team did a poor job on the scene. That caused the prosecution to have one hand tied behind their backs. It's a circumstantial case but there are LOTS of circumstances connected together.

I will be interested in the evidence found at murgaugh resident that brought Stephen's case back to being investigation!!!
Great job Mandy Liz and everyone on board thank you so much for this
To quote George Orwell’s Pigs in Animal Farm - All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others - Alex Murdaugh looks like one of those pigs when they began wearing suits and ties………..
The production, editing, delivery, and journalism behind this particular special is exemplary and unique. Well done to all parties involved in the hour.
Very impressed by the format.
Hi Mandy and Liz! Love The Murdaugh Murders Podcast!!!
This was excellent! Loved the format doing several round table groups- made everyone able to so open.
Randy is perfection!
I'm not a CNN fan. I'm glad I took the time to view the video. What a major CF!!! I have finally caught with all your podcasts and can't believe I have never heard of this criminal case. I don't have cable / satellite TV so I only have local news. I live in Missouri so understandly it is not of priority news coverage.WHAT A MESS! You all are doing a good job in coverage of the 'good old boys'.
Me too. Can't stand c n n. Haven't watched them in a good 10 years. No cable TV ect. All I have is my phone. Let's see what happens.
Just watch Fox News! You have great journalism there!

How is Randy not arrested?! Common sense and a history of practice in that firm of skirting the law. They didnt have to do well in college because their real life education was just a given at the firm and they already had connections. Not earned respect. And John Marvin, he is clearly an accomplice at the least.
There no way this now dissolved firm wasn’t rotten to the core…
I agree with you.
I have been following this case ever since the first CNN report caught my attention. Always searching for any information available. Then I found MMP. Not only comprehensive coverage but I would say courageous coverage. Mandy and Liz have become personal heroes as they unflinching expose the truth of deep systemic corruption in their own backyard. All of it done with compassion and total respect for the many victims involved. Sandy is an incredible person and I know she is going to get justice for her beautiful son. Eric Bland is a shining example for the legal profession fearlessly shining light on everyone who used power and privilege to take full advantage of so many. As a Philadelphia native he makes us proud! Thank you all for what you have done and continue to do to in the name of justice. Mandy has even caught Dick's attention which made me laugh and shows how much effect you are having. Keep up the fantastic work and know you have alot of fans here in Philly!
I watched last nights Nightline.. The show was covering this Murdoch case! Just happened upon this CNN coverage this morning!! This is beyond interesting!! Let the truth be told!!!!
This story, and the others that go with it, are crazy. Love the podcast!
HUGE thanks!!
This was GREAT🥂🙏🏻
I hope this is the future of the new CNN Nice journalism
Omgosh that poor kid Steven. This whole thing is messed up. I just found this channel, recommended in the live chat on law and crime. I watch trials bc I'm dying a slow death. I need to know as much background as possible before if possible.
My gosh I'm so upset about the kids, especially Steven 😥💔💔
Maggie's voice in the housekeeper's 911 call is emotionless
Both Maggie and whichever son was with her. Paul ? Both sounded more inconvenienced than anything. Freaks.
This woman literally raised her son. I think the fact that the family never came to visit spoke volumes.
@@karinaz8756 Maggie did visit Gloria Satterfield in hospital.

These people are all brilliant in their own ways. I’m not from South Carolina but if I were I’d be so proud of how these men and women represent my state.
This family history is sick, disturbing and disgusting on so many levels i send my deepest condolences too everyone that past away dealing with the murdagh family
The silence while the 911 call is ringing is such a great observation! Let the blubbering begin!
So good so see Sandy get much needed attention 💜
We used to joke that if a person wanted to get away with murder they should come to our rural Texas county. Several years down the road my niece, her husband & their 5 year old son were beat down & their house set on fire with them in it. It was immediately called an accident & there was no investigation. By the time there was years later (not by locals) there was no evidence. Only a confession might bring justice but that's not gonna happen.
I’m so sorry Sheryl for you family loss. That is horrible, I hope they get justice.
@@Guinnivere Thank you Jennifer. Dec 27 will be 26 years but it's still hard to believe. The saddest part is their 13 year old son that was away from home that night. His life has been a living hell.

Stephen Smith’s mum is so sweet .
This is the time for people to come forward, think about how this mother has been feeling for 8 years without justice for her son
This case came to our attention too here in the Philippines. Thanks to CNN news I was able to follow it up until the verdict of Guilty.
Those families have been so brutally cheated and this is a stain on every lawyer across the country but especially in the Carolinas where people already expect a lot of crooks. As I've grown up I've learned there's no such thing as a southern gentleman
This was great. Yah to everyone working for justice and the seeing that the Murdocks pay.
Stephen’s mom seems like such a sweet lady. No wonder he was smiling all the time. It was hard to watch her and not smile-esp when she spoke of her son. Ginger has every right to be indignant. Gloria was much more than a housekeeper. Some of the best people in this world are considered “the help.” Proud of those speaking up for Mr Pinkney and Elaina & her family. Jordan Jenks-a childhood friend?! Just Mind-boggling 🤯. And Mallory Beach-tragic. I pray that each of these victims find peace. 💜

How common is it for personal injury attorneys to steal large settlements? Tom Girardi from Erin Brockovich fame got caught doing the same thing to many of his clients.
It’s very unusual. They get disbarred right away.
Frank Catania got disbarred for it too. DoLo’s ex from RHONJ
@@mariapilarme not at all that unusual. What's unusual is attorneys facing justice for it. They rob fr9m clients way more often then anyone could imagine
I don't really understand why the money is handed over to the lawyer and not the clients in the first place.
@@c.w.8200 Because any kind of legal document requires lawyers to handle the money from divorce to some trusts in which case people either don't have family or do not trust them. The judges require it also. I had a friend who waited two years to get her compensation from her lawyer for a hit and run!
This case needs a change of venue for the alleged murders.
I got chills with the “if you ever need to k!ll a man…” statement.
I know I also got the chills. This family dirty deeds go way for generations you can't tell me any differently that very comment galvanized my theory.
Great job all the way around. Mandy, Liz and Eric you have brought justice where there was none. I look forward to all the Murdaugh shady deals come into the light.
It would be interesting , after these are prosecuted , for historical investigations to be done into his father , grandfather and great grandfather.
This was so damn good. Probably one of the most interesting cases I've ever heard of.
Congratulations 🎉
Great❤ job exposing a horrible family
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that people often hide behind a facade, and they can be excellent at “putting on a good show.” Don’t underestimate how unhinged people can be behind the scenes, regardless of their status in society, how much money they have, their job position, how polite they are to your face, etc. My brother and dad are narcissists, and under certain circumstances, I can totally see my dad doing something that Murdaugh is accused of doing.
I am so sorry for Sandy- I am the MOM of a beautiful gay son.
I live up North where it is (almost) fully acceptable to be gay.
I praise youn for the LOVE you had for your son
This is really common in most southern states , rural counties, it’s called “The Good Ol Boy System”
In the mob the call them goodfellas. They sound pretty similar.
JUSTICE for Steven Smith !!!!
I very much admire Mrs. Sandy Smith. She keeps faith, loves and also clam to cope with all these after her Stephen dead. Please keep on good job... Sending love and support from Taiwan. ♥️
Appreciate the brilliance of the lawyer who noticed the silence on the 911 call! Great detective work!
And for also correcting the host when she used the term "allegedly". Way to speak up.
I have a feeling Stephen’s case will be solved and he will receive justice. I can’t explain it but I just have that feeling. I hope I am right. God bless all of you who participated in this documentary.
So you get Life Insurance on anyone?
@@SilentWeaponsQuietWars Yeah, I wondered about this as well. Where I am located you can’t just take out life insurance on anyone *without their knowledge.*
Don’t you need someone’s ssn to do that? And isn’t there a medical evaluation involved? This should be reported to the police
Geez.
Holy moly thanks for the info. My mom is 98, and has preplanned and paid for her funeral, which rather shocked me but I will look into this. CRAP what an evil world. Everyone should google George Washington’s vision‼️It’s coming true.

The power that family had in South Carolina...its good to see justice will be served
Wow! Such great insight from the movers and shakers who blew the top off the legal shenanigans and are taking down the liars. Great job Mandy and Liz!
His financial trials, the Stephen Smith case reopened based on info obtained during a search of the house at Moselle after the murders, and Cousin Eddie’s case. There is so much more to this
