Yeah it def. is higher but you gotta realize, Fares, the guy that made this list, was only a little kid when that race was swum so he's got alot of recency biased in these picks, it's not an accurate representation of all swims ever.

I think the mens 4x100 medley relay from 2022 SC Worlds should be on here, that relay had everything. 3 teams under the old WR, a tied gold/WR, a monster comeback from Chalmers, Italy going from 1st to 3rd in the final length......

Let’s not forget the reason the 2008 relay was such an extreme nail biter. It wasn’t just that Phelps’ goal of 8 golds was at stake. When Lezak stepped up to anchor, the French had a lead, and their anchor was the world record holder in the 100F. Actually, his record had just gotten broken in the lead-off leg of that relay, but still, imagine having to race the world record holder in his event, and he gets a head start! It looked impossible. It looked like Phelps would have to settle for, at best, 7 golds and a silver. And yet in disbelief, we watched Lezak keep creeping up on Alain Bernard the whole way until, miraculously, he passed him on just about the very last stroke. It was truly hard to believe what we had just seen. I don’t know if there has ever been another race like it. And I also don’t know, but it’s possible Lezak’s time of 46.00 is still the fastest relay leg ever. He deserved something even more than a gold medal in my opinion!

Let’s fix the list - #1 Lezak Anchor to give Phelps 8 gold - #2 Aussie Men’s 4x100m in 2000 home olympics - Klim breaks the world record in the lead off - Thorpe’s anchor (after winning the 400 in a world record earlier in the night) they break the relay world record & the USA lose the event for the first time in history after 7 straight wins dating back to 1964. #3 Phelps over Cavic. #4 Ledecky Rio 800m win by 11 seconds #5 Kieren Perkins 1500m Atlanta 1996 - defends his olympic title from lane 8 after qualifying for the final by just 0.23 of a second! #6 Phelps 200m medley rio 2016 - becomes first & only swimmer in history to win the same individual event at 4 consecutive Olympic Games - Athens, Beijing, London, Rio #7 French 4x100m London 2012 take revenge after 2008 monster anchor from Agnel #8 Ye Shiwen 400 medley London 2012 breaks the world record & at 16 years of age swims a final freestyle leg just 0.03 slower than what ryan lochte swum to win gold in the men’s final. #9 Denis Pankratov the Russian sub 1996 Atlanta 100m fly - unlimited underwater rules wins the gold in world record taking just 33 strokes in 2 laps. #10 Krisztina Egerszegi 200m backstroke Atlanta 1996 - becomes the first swimmer of the modern era to win three consecutive individual olympic titles in the same event joining dawn fraser 100 free 56,60,64 & the hungarian wins by the biggest margin in Olympic history over 4 laps by a whopping 4.15 seconds. Special mention Anthony Irvin 50m free Rio became oldest ever individual olympic swimming gold medallist at 35 - 16 years after he tied for gold with Gary Hall Jnr in the 50m free as a 19-year-old at Sydney 2000. Side note Anthony Nesty was the first African American individual olympic swimming gold medallist. Simone was the first African American woman.

There should be 3 more races:
    1. Joseph Schooling's 100 fly in Rio 2016, when he beat 3 legends, who tied up for silver.
    2. Qin Haiyang's 💉 100 breaststroke, when there was also 3-way tie for the silver.
    3. 4x100 SC medley relay in Melbourne 2022, when Australia and USA shared gold medal and WR.
Seeing how people tie for medals is insane. That's why I think these races should be in a top list.

Shadow of an athlete, he's putting up some of the best times in the world, just off his personal bests, it's just everyone has gotten faster. Dressel has never tested positive for anything, and his body hasn't had huge changes, he's not a huge guy to begin with. Kieran Perkins at the 1996 Olympics in the 1500m freestyle. I know it's been nearly 30 years but still it's the first time that any swimmer ever has defended the 1500m freestyle at the Olympics and not only Perkins won the gold he won it from lane 8.

That's a bit biased isn't it ? Putting 2008 relay on top and not 2012 relay. As a frenchman the 2008 relay that France won is the most legendary race I have seen. I must admit I am a little upset you left it out and still put 2008 on top.

So many more Iconic swims than these, this was recency biased at it's best, Fares is still quite young so he was a little kid when that 2000 relay was swum so it def should be higher on the list. As other people said the 2022 short course world's medley relay def should be on this list. Lochte/Phelps 200 Im in 2011 all need to be on here. I would obviously take of Simone/Penny swim, Simone not the first African American to win a gold medal in an individual event because Anthony Irvin already did it. I'd also take of Ledecky's 800 free because like you said, it wasn't even a world record.
