Being a teacher is definitely one of the most important jobs to ever exist. Its almost like a parental role because you're playing a part for the upbringing of kid's education, and kids can be incredibly hard to deal with but that doesn't give the right for teachers to be mean to students either, similar to kids and parents. I definitely think teachers should be paid more to do their jobs and do it well, and schools should be careful with hiring teachers who are badly impacting their students

My english teacher in high school was so chill and kind. She was really good at her work too. Friendly with the students and so down-to-earth. Classes with her were always so fun and stress-free. Made me absolutely love the subject regardless whether the lessons were boring or not.

honestly true because i used to like bio a lot until we have this new teacher and she was being homophobic and strict on us so slowly lost interest in the subject and now i suck at bio miserably
also my homeroom teacher (who teaches math) sometimes is strict but only when we are misbehaving and she make funny jokes sometimes so i find myself enjoying math at times (still suck at it tho)

I also used to like bio but this one teacher talked way too much about unrelated things and didn't teach half the material necessary, so I lost interest.
I'm a Chem major in Uni now and I'm taking a bio class next semester, so hope I get a good teacher this time!

Its true, people often don't know just how much work happens behind the scene. Ofc you have teachers that just say to copy something from the book and that's it, but so many do extra work at home in their spare time. I know my mum has nights where she barely sleeps from how much work she has, from preparing lessons and materials, grading and making her own tests (we all know there are teachers who just download standard tests, let alone make their own), planing several projects to having to think about what to give to the special ed kids she doesn't even get paid for

fr my grade9 chem teacher made learning chemistry fun bc of how she does it and how nice of a teacher she was not being too strict about deadlines bc she understands that every student had different situations ☹️ still remains my favorite teacher to this day

I agree with mysta. As a teacher, you can't just simply be good at the subject you're teaching, you have to be a likeable teacher. I used to hate math, but when i started middle school, my teacher was really nice and understanding. She is fairly strict, but only if the students misbehave. She has a nice funny accent too which makes her pretty fun to listen to. She's also not the type of teacher who ignores or gets mad at students who doesnt understand. She'll explain, but if the student still doesn't understand, she'll tell them to tag along with the class, and after class she can teach them again, so they have a chance to understand the material more, but the other students dont have to wait on the for too long. I still kinda suck at math, but i dont necessarily hate it. I really wish there are more teachers like my math teacher

This is so true. A teacher personality and behavior really affect student grade. Student will get higher grade if they enjoy the class.
I also always likes english more than other class, bc somehow the english teachers i got was always a good teacher. Like they are chill and funny but they still actually teach you and they are not a teacher you can mess with. They get angry sometimes, but their anger are reasonable like when the class didnt listen to her or just talking around themselves. So I can get the right amount of lecture and fun during the class.

Honestly, I'm a teacher-to-be currently taking a tesl degree, if I ever really end up becoming one. And videos talking about teaching give me a certain degree of... worry. Like what if I don't have class control at all? Or what if my students are not learning anything that can be put into exams by the end of the year? On the flip side, what if my students don't enjoy my classes? Or am I being too mean?
As Mysta said, it's really complex and confusing as to how to navigate your job and student-teacher interaction. Especially when you're in the middle of both ends of the spectrum. If I end up not being a teacher, this would probably be a huge reason why, because I don't know how to teach per say.

As someone who teaches (albeit relatively small class as of now) I totally get where you're coming from. When I first started out I definitely had that worry. I still do to be honest, but over time you kind of get the hang of what works for your class and what doesn't. To a certain degree you get a sense for your students' reaction to your teaching. At least for me, when I'm stuck it really helps to talk to other teachers or look stuff up on the internet. Usually I ask about what might work better for a certain class or students or maybe more out there ideas so that it's not that boring or anything ya kno? I'm definitely still learning, so take my advice with a grain of salt but all this time the best teacher to me is definitely experience. I've learnt more of what to do while on the job.
I guess TLDR: either way if you do end up being a teacher, just do your best, consult others who may know better if you're lost and remember that all students have their own pace, it may be a struggle to balance but it's definitely worth it to see them flourish in the end.

I literally edited this many times, but i just want to say that i love teaching- even if I'm not good enough, even if i still have much to improve and learn, I'm trying to do my best in every lesson i deliver.
Bad things happen, but it's all okay. There's always a chance to be better.
It's nice to see that there are teachers (and teachers-to-be) here. 🧡

The best teachers in my life have been my language teachers (ESL and Latin), who’ve been my mentors or secondary family, and my English teachers/professors. They’re down-to-earth, forgiving, care, and they try so hard to make sure every kid is okay. Like one of my English professors started checking up on me after I haven’t participated and I told them my insomnia was acting up. Now he makes it a weekly thing where we talk for an hour in the morning just on books, poetry, and different authors.

True! When I was in 8th grade I hated math more than I already did because the teacher talks so fast and sometimes she don't explain some parts of the topic. I failed math often that year lol. But in 9th grade, the teacher was really nice. He explains stuff slowly so everyone understands and he would review yesterday's topic if someone doesn't understand. Since then I enjoy studying maths.
And yes, being a teacher is definetely hard. Once my classmates got angry because the p.e assignment due is only a few hours after class ends. Some even said they hoped the teacher would lose his job. I got pissed cause, man, getting a job isn't easy. My dad is a teacher so I knew how hard teaching is and many teachers are underpaid... Even if you dislike the teacher, you shouldn't say that.

True because I loved eng, maths, science ,moral because the teachers were chill and fun
But then my English teacher got more pushy about my grades and it immediately started dropping
My science teacher got switched with another horrible teacher who would literally embarrass you infront of class for a small mistake and I just didn't wanna go to that class anymore
Still I understand how hard it is being a teacher
And yeah kids can be dumb and loud and energetic and it probably fucks with them too , I feel bad especially when teachers get meltdowns after that

@@sevenman9672 No, because it was propaganda. It wasn't "come to your own conclusions!", it was the teachers literally just feeding everyone what to think. Also, no politics is more interesting than a really good book.
