Love Kenny Barron...saw him in Chicago with Yusef Lateef...became one of my favorites on piano...along with McCoy Tyner.

An extremely fluent, informative and very interesting speaker. I've loved his playing since I first heard him with Dizzy in London in the 1960s. A superb musician, and all-round nice fella.

Kenny Barron is a great pianist. When I heard him the first time, I was amazed to discover that there were more beautiful notes on the piano than I had thought possible previously.

If Kenny ever stopped playing he would make a superb lecturer/raconteur, but I hope he continues to play his beautiful melodic improvisations for many many years to come.

WOW! I went to BMCC in the mid 70's and while I didn't take Yusef Lateef's class (I took Goines' class), I did cross paths with him in the hallway of the L Building.

Published Interviews of jazz musicians is a relatively new arena. Before the internet developed and expanded platforms to showcase talent, the digital photo and video revolution was, in many ways, responding in tandem with the revolution in the lower cost of memory and improvement of processor speed. Compression software and the formats adopted for it, has made downloading/uploading of videos possible for average people with limited computer skills who can now share great collections.

.. It'strue ...the environment for today's young musicians is so very different. ,...now they can punch up the history of jazz on their cell phones. Dance band experience is a thing of the past ..

Kenny mentioned Krass Bros. as their source for new clothes for the band
We Philly-area folks of a certain generation will never forget Krass Bros.classically cheesy commercials.
