Primitive Dance Bahuwa

One of the most ancient dances of the Sonowal Kacharis of Assam is 'Bahuwa Dance'. This dance is a special tradition performed by the Sonowal Kacharis every two years in the month of Bohag to remove evil from the village. This is a beautiful dance performed by the followers along with 'Bahuwa' and 'Bahuwani' to the traditional instrument 'Mridang' of the Sonowal Kacharis. This dance is performed to the beat of the instrument 'mridang'. No songs or voices are used with this dance. The artists participating in this dance wear leaves of banana trees. Looking at the costumes worn by the artists, it can be said that this dance carries one of the earliest history of human civilization. History It is true that people wore tree bark or leaves at some stage of civilization to protect themselves from cold or shame. Accordingly, the "Bahuwa Dance" of the Sonowal Kacharis is one of the earliest dances of human civilization.

অসমৰ সোনোৱাল কছাৰীসকলৰ এটি অতি প্ৰাচীন নাচ হৈছে 'বহুৱা নাচ'। এই নাচ সোনোৱাল কছাৰীসকলে প্ৰতি দুই বছৰৰ মূৰে মূৰে গাঁৱৰ পৰা অপায়-অমংগল নাশৰ বাবে ব'হাগ মাহত পালন কৰা এক বিশেষ পৰম্পৰা। এই পৰম্পৰাত 'বহুৱা' আৰু 'বহুৱানী'ৰ সৈতে অনুচৰসকলে সোনোৱাল কছাৰীসকলৰ পৰম্পৰাগত বাদ্য 'মৃদংগ'ৰ চেৱত কৰা এক সবাংগ সুন্দৰ নাচ। এই নাচ 'মৃদং' বাদ্যৰ তালে তালে নচা নাচ। এই নাচৰ সৈতে কোনো গীত অথবা কোনো মাত কথা ব্যৱহাৰ নহয়। এই নাচত অংশগ্রহণ কৰা শিল্পীসকলে কল গছৰ পাত পৰিধান কৰে। শিল্পীসকলে পৰিধান কৰা সাজ-পাৰলৈ চাই ক'ব পাৰি যে এই নাচে মানৱ সভ্যতাৰ এক আদিমতম ইতিহাস বহন কৰি আছে। ইতিহাস সত্য কথা যে মানুহে ঠাণ্ডা বা লজ্জা নিবাৰণৰ বাবে সভ্যতাৰ কোনোবাটো স্তৰত গছৰ ছাল বা পাত পিন্ধিছিল। সেই অনুসৰি সোনোৱাল কছাৰীসকলৰ "বহুৱা নাচ' মানৱ সভ্যতাৰ এক আদিমতম নাচ।
