Mine has an issue with the blades scratching the clear plastic collar, and it looks like yours does too. This ends up putting plastic in the food, and not good. The blade is too thin and bends as it chops food or the collar isn't wide enough. Either way Pampered Chef won't admit to an issue or even fix it. All they do is replace it, and the issue gets repeated.

Those aren’t almonds. They’re pecans. Almonds are really hard, and hard to chop.
