Once again Jan, thanks for this interview. It was a really enjoyable experience, and we hope that your audience finds it helpful and informative. We hope to have the opportunity to connect with you again in the near future, and see you at any upcoming Shopify events. Thanks again from all of us at Clean Canvas!
Hi, because of this video from Jan & CleanCanvas we started to review the Enterprise Theme for Shopify and we released it finally on July 22th 2023. Before we used the Modular Theme. We did not change the structure and 99% of the wordings, we also nearly used the same pictures. The main reasons for us were, that the search bar is always visible and quickly accessible on Mobile screens & that the filter options are better to use on mobile too. Some other benefits might have been there, but these two were the points, why we wanted to change. After going live with Enterprise 1.1.1 we did not share the info about the changes anywhere and we did not start any campaigns around that. The results were in fact overwhelming. With the day of our Enterprise launch we see a +220% increased conversion rate in average in our shop, the rate is stable for 20 days now. Revenue however did not increase in the same amount (seems like now we attract more quick and lower purchases) but of course we also earn a lot more because of the change. There's really no doubt, that the new theme has lifted us to a higher level overnight. Thanks for that! (Besides that the Page Speed increased to about 80 points on mobile & close to 96-100 points on desktop. I wanted to share this case, now that we start to believe that this is truly stable.)
Thank you Jan and Clean Canvas team for this interview. This answered a lot of questions not just for new developers but also for some who have experience in web development and are learning Shopify. This interview let us see how theme development looks like in a different perspective. Knowing how to code is definitely good but knowing how a team (who has been doing it for years) works and hearing about their experiences is a great thing for us to learn.
Really great interview! So helpful to hear about the experiences building for the Shopify Theme Store, and esp how themes can be made to be "developer-friendly" by exposing and documenting JS events.
Great interview and nice to see Marcus again! Marcus was the one who welcomed us (Fuel Themes) to the Shopify Theme Store and holds a special place :) Great work on the Enterprise theme and excited to see the upcoming themes.
@@CodingWithJan It was our pleasure Jan - hopefully your viewers get some value from it!! We are always here to answer any questions relating to our themes!
Thank you Caytero ☺. We're delighted that you found our insights helpful in understanding how themes are created and that the advice we shared is useful for newbie developers. Jan asked us great questions so big shout out to him for the interview.
@@talhaamjad5740 Thanks. Glad you like theme. Look out for more updates coming soon. 2023 is gonna be a big year for our themes. Thanks for you support!!
Really enjoyed the interview Jan you're an Inspiration and you're providing us insightful interviews with greats of Shopify theme development 🙌 Fan of Clean Canvas themes 😍
The advice at the end is great too. "Don't build something you don't have a heart for" is really true. That should be the first directive for any developer starting any project.
I haven’t heard of the Enterprise theme until this video. Checked out the demo and it’s BLAZING fast! Do you have a video available for extending/customizing paid themes like this while still keeping them updatable?
Awesome! :-) Customizing and staying up-to-date is definitely a tricky topic. Some theme companies offer automated updates (if your customizations don't introduce breaking changes.) Beyond that, you definitely want to keep track of all your changes in GIT, so you have an easier time carrying them over manually if needed. And the theme changelogs can also be helpful. (+ helps you to evaluate if the new updates are useful for the brand you work with, in the first place) I think that's pretty much where it's at 😄
Excited to purchase Enterprise Theme. But there's a functionality that they need to add specially in the header to align navigation and footer alignment aso.
Hello Jan, Do you happen to know how I can get from Shopify their own app Product Reviews to read the data Jan that make a custom section as testimonial

Hi Jan, how is theme done with shopify hydrogen2
I know Woo and SquareSpace and Elementor Pro, but need to get up to speed with Shopify. What should I review first - any suggestions appreciated.
- how to do a store setup from scratch, get familiar with the dashboard
- then how themes are structured and how to build a simple section
:-)

Jan is always trying to get into the technical details...
Hope that's meant in a postive way haha
