The issue is people chasing validation. Fact: not everyone likes your fragrance, will comment on it, or ask what it is. Simple solution: Buy what YOU like.
The majority are dumb, impulsive and don’t test or wear what they like. Wear what you like and the fragrance is always just the icing or topping of the cake. The Fragrance doesn’t make you. Also there are too many people on TikTok that are doing affiliate links and are not as transparent as they should be. Great video as always Melissa!
Fragrances aren’t love potions. They are an addition to your seduction arsenal/game/persona. You actually have to be good at other things and not let frags do all the heavy-lifting
I think most people making these complaints are struggling with impulse control and don't want go blame themselves when things don't work out. I went through a phase like that when I was around 20, the thing that ended up helping me with it is just unfollowing content creators that made me want to impulse buy things until I got a better handle on it. If you're reading this and you're struggling it's OK to unfollow people or get off of social media entirely for a while, getting a hobby outside of the internet will also help.
Me who blind buy all my parfums de marly with after pay. I have EVERY male PDM 💀 thank you fragrancebuy black friday and random buy 1 get one 25% offs.
Comments like that come from people who don’t know and understand note breakdowns, body chemistry, masceration, etc. They wanna buy mass appealing fragrances or fragrances because somebody else says it’s good but they don’t realize a fragrance can be good or not good because of multiple different factors. They don’t actually know what they like and dislike structurally when it comes to fragrances so they go off the opinions of others.
Fragrance is like music. No such things as good or bad, only personal opinions and choices. I would never blind buy an expensive fragrance. Melissa, I have a question, I want to buy a fragrance, pure purfume, but I don't know if I should buy the vaporisateur or the cork-style stopper. I know what I would choose if it was EDP or EDT but this is my first time buying pure perfume. I'm ordering it from another country so no way of testing it out for myself. The vaporisateur would keep it from being ''contaminated'' by skin and oils etc, but would probably dispense far to much perfume? Pure perfume is very potent. What do you think?
I watch a handful of fragrance content creators here on UA-cam. I like to hear everyone’s perspective. I will never blind buy any perfume that costs more than $50 HARD PASS. I am not going into debt to purchase a perfume. HARD PASS. I have been interested in fragrance for about 3 years. I purchased numerous samples at the beginning of my hobby. I found that I don’t like the majority of fragrances that most content creators love. (I tried CH’s Good Girl. HARD PASS. I don’t like Black Opium either.🤢) I’m stuck in my inexpensive Middle Eastern fragrance phase. I’ve been lucky enough to find some great fragrances at great prices. It’s going to be extremely difficult to get me away from my Lattafas.😆
I blind bought a 6.8oz of Ultra Male and I personally didn’t like it either. It was one of my first fragrances. Good learning experience because I now enjoy my current fragrance rotation from the research and testing I do beforehand
I've not blind bought a fragrance in 20 years. Decants. and if I like the way the fragrance works with my body and climate I may get another decant just to make sure. Too much money to blindly trust someone else's subjective opinion.
Spitting facts here 🙏. Speaking of personal experience, I was curious if you had a favourite evil/dark fragrance to the feminine nose? So for men to wear
I like blind buying. I love to find out whether I would like or not some fragrances. I have no way to try them out where I live. I like youtube because i hear of fragrances here that otherwise i would have no way to know about. The ones I like I keep. The ones I don't like I either sell or give away.
As someone who likes to dabble in fragrances and by no means am I an expert in the subject. But I think a lot of people forget that just like buying a new Jacket, Sweatshirt, Bag, and etc. buy it cause you like it and like Melissa said get samples and try it for 3-5 days cause the oil and composition of the smell will change the more you wear it cause of your natural skin oil. Loving the content keep it up!
Thoroughly agree. Your skin and your nose will always be different than someone else's. Never... ever blind buy. Unless it's your thing. I made a few. Some I loved. Some I super didn't. So many videos says Layton and Carlisle are the "go-to" fragrances for PDM. I don't like either. But I do like Galloway, Perseus, and Percival. Baccarat rouge is straight cotton candy on me for like an hour, before the dry down becomes something I'm not weird about. Buy samples. Take responsibility for your own actions.
The fragrance game is expensive..you made some excellent points here. You MUST test and sample to see how it wears on you..i like listening to others perspective on a fragrance but im not just going to go out and purchse it because an influencer "said so" not with these niche brands running $3-400 dollars per bottle....get outa here..😂😂
It’s crazy that this has to even be said lol. Nobody is going to agree on fragrance 100% of the time even if you have a lot of similar likes with another person. I’ve bling bought mostly cheapies based on frag reviews and never get upset if I don’t get the same thing as the person or persons reviewing the fragrance. I just say nah this don’t work for me or oh yeah, I’m happy I picked this up. It’s simple really!
It is with anything in life. It happens to people who don’t have any ideas on their own, don’t have experience or guidance in their life. Lot of young people fall into this category by default. These people will follow someone or belong to a group of likes. It sure happens with the most experienced to make mistakes but they own it. It is easier to blame others or circumstances for their mistakes because it takes away their responsibility.
My currernt favorite fragrance is Bad boy extreme by Carolina Herrera and its mainy because i tried it first at my local Macy's. Blind buying is risky i agree. I blind bought Club Black by Mercedes and luckily i loved it because i love sweet fragrances. I blind bought stuff and didnt like it but what did i do? I had to hold that L, and now i try before i buy like you and curlyfragrance said.
22 AUGUST 2024-Perfume is a deeply personal choice-what smells amazing on one person might not work for another. Reviewers can provide valuable insights, but it's crucial to remember that their preferences aren't universal. Just because they rave about a scent doesn't mean it'll smell the same or even pleasant on you. Everyone's skin chemistry is different, so it's important to trust your own nose and instincts.
Melissa! It is called natural selection! 😂 It has been this way since the beginning of time. It is now just on social media. You have always needed common sense in life.
Yeah blind buying fragrances online is a gamble. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Either way you get a new experience. If I really don’t like it I just give it away to someone who can enjoy it. But blaming it on yt reviewers or TikTok? nah. These kids don’t know what it was like 10 years ago to get good fragrances on a budget or otherwise. When I was in my player phase I had one decent cologne One! ☝🏾and it worked for me. I really enjoy fragrances but people gotta remember that fragrances are just the cherry on top. You gotta still bake the cake and that takes discipline.
Its all your fault Melissa, you told me it was good.... Its not my shitty attitude, its not my bad wardrobe or my lack of self esteem nor my bad breath and uninspiring physique, its your advice on the juice.... now please give me back the money i will spend because I cant stop buying your recommendations goodnight
No, I had a tiktoker say that God of fire is a blue fragrance….. a blue fragrance, I had another one say that Ombré leather was a black fragrance and Gris Chanel extrait is a brown fragrance…. Like what is going on with TikTok reviewers 🤯
@@melissanacional9662 the problem is that we don’t need ppl telling other ppl that this and that fragrance is Blue, Black, or Brown because of the color of juice or the bottle…. It’s all about the notes/accords and the feeling you get with it
They’re not talking about the color of the juice. They’re talking about a vibe using colors. People like different things. No point in saying something isn’t needed because everyone has different versions of creativity and fun. Again, I see no problem with it. Doesn’t work me up but to each their own

That guy has been recommending the same fragrances for 6 years 😂😂😂 and they still ass in my opinion he don’t even want you to smell different he’s still recommending montblanc explorer and creed aventus 🤣🤣🤣💀
i don't know why you say paying klarna or afterpay is an issue? some people don't manage their money well and for you to say that's a stupid question then you need to think about what really comes out of your mouth
if you have already smelled the fragrance and you like it then there is no buyers remorse, there are sales that happen where something is a very good price and you don't have the money right now but next week you do then what's the issue? it's easy for you to say because you get free bottle of expensive fragrances and we don't
If you comprehended this video correctly then you’d know I’m talking about people who buy things then complain. If you’re satisfied with it this video clearly doesn’t apply to you. Come on now
