- The Supreme Court heard a plea seeking direction to seize the symbol or deregister a party that promises or distributes "irrational freebies" before polls and a separate petition of the Aam Aadmi Party challenging the postponement of MCD polls on grounds of delimitation of wards in the national capital.

Thanks Manish ji for inviting Shri Ashwani upadhyay ji. Ashwani ji is a star among the advocates who feels concerned for the nation. We feel very sorry for very very senior lawyers of Supreme court who have only one goal of looting the nation by taking up cases of the corrupt and contribute in shielding their ill-gotten wealth and earning fees only in cash and never taking up issues that concern the people.
or the party who offer freebies should declare that that they will not use any government money or governmetn resources. they will use their own resources.

When 2 patriotic,knowledgeable persons like Ashwiniji and Manishji analyse any serious problem that impacts the Nation and it's citizenry, we ordinary people are benefited greatly!! Voters should keep a close watch on parties who promise feebies ( thereby brining potential voters) and reject such parties totally!! SC should come out with strong opinion in the matter!!

सर्वप्रथम नेताओं को 5 वर्ष का केवल वेतन का अधिकार मिलना चाहिये, पेंशन व अन्य सरकारी फ्री की सेवाएं मिलना बंद करना चाहिये। 5 वर्ष के कार्यों की जवाबदेही होनी चाहिये। 70% भ्रष्ट अपने आप भाग जायेंगे। फिर उपरोक्त प्राविधान लागू करना चाहिये। साथ ही योग्यता अनिवार्यता के साथ सज़ा का भी प्राविधान होना चाहिए।

Really commendable job. Of late Political parties have forgotten that they are accountable towards public. They spent funds were they are benefitted. Corporates building infrastructures again with public money as most of them are borrowed from banks. Intially on paper contracts are awarded with a stipulated period for collecting tolls. But that period never ends. They are many expamples of high way projects getting .multiple extensions, which I believe is not possible without the connivance of government officials and political parties. Ultimately the end sufferers are public. Delhi Jaipur NH is a classical expample, construction of which is going on for more than six decades still many stretches are non motorable but have to pay huge toll for using it. All the best. We should make a no freebie India.

My suggestion. Any scheme promised by political party comes to power (On oath taking ceremony) must deposit min of 25% to 50% projected value of scheme to Centre & security of balance to curtail them. This will reduce corruption as all political parties accumulate fund for misuse only.

The learnered advocate has very rightly brought out the economic situation of States and I fully agree the Hon'ble SC and Government of India should take positive steps to save the economy of the country and inturn the people of India.
For every state, there should be credit rating based on their capacity to payback loans etc. based on rigorous financial scrutiny by financial experts. Their income and expenditure reports to be made public by each state CM as a legal requirement before they sign off.

Not enough. Ask each party to deposit, as advance, at least 200 crores with RBI. Not to be touched. Ask the political party where they got the money from.
May be each party’s manifesto must be approved by a central accounting body like CAG?

The freebies is making dangerous impact in society and there should immediate restriction on such practices by political parties. As people are not putting any effort for improvement and development.
चुनावी वायदे क्या सरेआम रिश्वत है जैसे लैपटॉप देना,सोने की चैन, स्कूटी,नकद राशि देना, मुफ्त बस यात्रा आदि।इन पर पाबन्दी लगनी चाहिए ऐसा करने वालों को सजा होनी चाहिए।
