Started to play the game and instantly fell in love with it. first I want to thank you for making it free to play and second congrats you for your awesome work. after 10h of playing these things caught my attention: 1- aiming up while the character is on the the ground is impossible for both weapons and grapples which makes an unfair aiming advantage for players in the air and buildings 2- by default, there's an angle limit on aiming up and down that causes a circular area on both sides to be unreachable. not being able to shoot under your feet or up the top of your head while the character is in the air makes gameplay frustrating 3- grace time should end the moment someone picks a weapon. there are many times that you get hit while you can't hit back 4- if you do not create momentum, the character most likely gets stuck on the edge of surfaces, unable to jump, and you either can let go and fall slowly which often leads to getting hit, Or grapple another surface which due to bad camera angle causing issue number 1 can sometimes be impossible 5- this one is not on you but I believe it's the most important one, the host has ping 0 while others suffer from high ping and this makes playing a horrible experience I hope this will be helpful to you and your work, thank you for giving me the most fun that I had in years
Awesome update! I love the support for the steam workshop maps. The game seems to making great progress so far. Would love to see script support in maps in the future for more dynamic content
Thanks! I would love to see that in the game too but don't think ill be adding unfortunately because that opens the gates for people uploading malware to the workshop!
Just played your game for the first time about a week ago, really cool game and new update. One thing I could suggest is for the game to automatically transfer server ownership to another player when the host leaves, as there's been several occasions of me joining a game that's barely started and getting kicked out along with everyone else because the server host left.
Thanks! I really want to add that but the technical side of it is pretty tricky, I plan on looking into it further though because this issue is really annoying
I'm absolutely loving the game! me and my friends have a couple of hours since we started playing on thursday and we're having a blast! I think a few more maps and/or guns would be very good for the game, but it's overall really fun
Umm I think removing the movement of the train ruins the map moving is what makes it fun, I think it is better to make walls on the side too hook on or a hole that the train will go in
Yeah I kind of agree but unique physics for particular maps kind of messes with custom map implementation. I hope to add back those physics in the future but for now I hope the map is at least fun in other ways. Personally I think being able to take cover underneath the train is a big improvement with this new design
Recently found this game and it's got a lot of potential, so I have a few suggestions. I know some of them are not worth the time, but I think it's worth pointing out. Gameplay: - Grappling feels good, but as someone mentioned below, the lack of momentum can make it so you're just stuck in certain maps. The train map specially suffers from this as the areas above the tracks aren't particularly high. I would suggest lowering the kill zone on the bottom so people can drop and use that momentum to recover. - While the lack of variety in guns is not a huge issue right now, the base functionality has little variety right now, with guns like the pistol, the crossbow and pistol only really changing damage and ammo count, and even touching the crosshair on barrel while shooting the shotgun won't detonate it. It would be nice if there were more functions like a rifle that shoots through walls, or have the shotgun hit objects in a cone with multiple pellets, a gun that results in a huge knockback towards you and the target, or even sillier stuff like an RPG that shoots slow homing rockets, or a firework you ride when shooting and can control the trajectory. - Additionally, it would be nice to have a weapon on the other arm, maybe on the Q key. - The UI for the ammo is hard to pay attention to. My suggestion would be to move it to the side of the character so it's always close to the crosshair (Paladins being an example of how that work). - Speaking of UI, it would be useful to have the crosshair change (either it's shape or color) when it's over a surface that can be grappled to since there is a maximum distance your grapple gun can attach to. - Could be interesting if new maps had environmental hazards as well. - And as hard as it would be to implement, a map creator would work well to complement the workshop integration. Edit: Considering players who are hosting the match get zero ping, there could be a game mode where the host has a larger health pool (and maybe a larger character model) and all the other players are on the same team against that player so the imbalance isn't felt as hard by the other players. Content: - I understand what's the point of the DLC pack, but truth is that it's just too expensive for what it offers (in my region being more expensive than games like Stardew Valley and Garry's Mod). Usually what you would want is a more expensive bundle with a lot of value, or smaller but cheaper bundles, and from a marketing standpoint, the second one would be more attractive to players. A good way to go about it is to have different themes for each DLC, like horror monsters, summer/beach themed, food inspired, aliens, etc. - A more complicated one would be to have different body types, specially a female body and maybe a chubby character or buff like you have on the background of the customization screen. - Certain outfits should probably have different options like long or no sleeves, and different colors. As an aside, I'm a 3D artist and I'd be available to produce some assets if you're interested. - Lastly, this is off the wall, but in the past, Valve did crossovers with smaller games and TF2 where getting certain achievements in those games (or even buying a DLC in those games) would unlock a cosmetic for TF2 which at the very least is a good way to market your game to people who would actually play that genre. It's an odd idea, but might not be bad to try getting in touch and see if they are up for it. If you'll need someone to port the items to TF2, I know a guy who worked with me on the past on a small project and I think he wouldn't have a problem doing it for you. Edit: Also loadouts, might be worth looking into how players could make their own character customization loadouts and even use them randomly in matches. Either way, I like the game, and my nephew seemed to enjoy it quite a bit as well, so I wish you luck in the future.
Thanks for the kind words and detailed feedback! Well thought out feedback and ideas like this go a long way. I really like some of your ideas and have started playing around with some of them actually. I'm definitely going to add more dlc options soon and lower the price as well, I just haven't gotten around to that yet. I'm going to be overhauling weapons soon as well and really liked some of your weapon ideas such as the knockback concept.
i have some suggestions 1. you can keep the train map not static by making death triggers for when you go too far away from the train in all directions and by making the ground move instead of the train (idk if this is how you had it before and idk why you scrapped the train from moving but this is my suggestion anyway) 2. you can fix the problem of the camera clipping through surfaces when looking up by making the camera go closer to the player if it is colliding with the world until it isn't 3. make hud presets so you can choose between different presets that either move or retexture things on the hud (and also optionally add workshop support for that, too)
whaaat? the host of the lobby has 0 ping because they're hosting the lobby and everyone else has ping because they're not the host? who would have known
I know its on pc but i think adding controller compatability would be a great feature since a big part of people on pc play with a controller although im not developer and dont know how hard that would be
There should be controller support to some degree actually. I've had friends play with controllers or their Steam decks, there are just some issues with the key binding screen. Which controller are you trying to use?
This comment may seem harmless but really it is just a variation of the "first" comment, it adds nothing of value and only serves as a bragging right. Even worse, you got 7th place meaning its not even that impressive (not that being able to click a video is impressive). Overall, there is no creativity in this comment 1/10

Awesome update, really enjoyed it!!!
Great to hear, thank you!
A quick suggestion, the ping counter on top of the health seems a little bit out of place. Maybe throw it to the upper left corner?
That might make more sense actually, I might test that out real quick to see if it looks better

Amazing work dude

3. make hud presets so you can choose between different presets that either move or retexture things on the hud (and also optionally add workshop support for that, too)
I like the HUD workshop idea! I should fix some of the camera clipping issues, it already does that but not perfectly
@@zoteling2817 a solution to the camera problem could be just to either make the level geometry not hollow or just thicken them

honestly the funniest thing about this game is the chat filtering.
Bro my friend just said the N word in chat to test it and it didn't stop him 💀
the train move or have different train maps like gang beast where 1 moves and the other does not
will we ever get the moving train back
this is the best game ever but i miss it so much
I'd like to add it back at some point but its not a priority rn
bro who ever host the lobby got 0ping and all other player 100 ping so please do something about this
whaaat? the host of the lobby has 0 ping because they're hosting the lobby and everyone else has ping because they're not the host? who would have known
