Great review. Appreciate displaying with a crimson guard so I can see if the color matches (they announced it should). I’m not into customizing or mod’ing too much, but I appreciate you mentioning the neck peg issue. It kinda sucks for those that do.
Games Workshop makes a clear red paint that you can paint over the original BATs face shield to get that red effect on the original head. Contrast Blood Angels Red
I really like look of this one. That said I'd like a more vibrant red on the helmet. He looks a little washed out. I thought the same about the red ninja I got, so I painted his armour plates a vibrant red and used clear nail varnish to goss them.
It also looks like the plastic for the head is different and as a result the shade of red is brighter and makes it looks cheaper :(. I have two on pre-order with Hasbro. One thing I have noticed and this particular figure helps to illustrate it, is that there is clearly a specific number paint applications that can be applied. For example, there are paint trades. Where one area had paint, another version doesn't but now has a new area that is painted. I noticed that the shoulders, cuffs and legs have a new paint app. But now there is no paint app on the laser weapon hand-attachment. Once I get my Crimson BAT, I am going to count paint apps and compare to see if that same number applies to the Python Patrol and the Crimson BAT.
I love the BAT design. I really liked the Python Patrol one with the red faceplate, but I would have preferred the extra damaged head, like the original one. I will probably get at least one of the Crimson one, too.
A plastic footlocker would sky rocket the cost. They did kinda do that with the Sigma 6 line years ago if you recall. They were cool cases. We have that lame cardboard box as part of the effort for plastic free packaging, so a plastic footlocker is likely never going to happen given the current train of thought as Hasbro. Great review, just gotta say, my God you manhandle that plastic footlocker, getting that lid flap all bent up. LOL!
That really sucks … why would they do that if it ain’t broke don’t fix! I’m still gonna buy six to 8 of them and I bought ten python patrol because they were easy to acquire … so I can swap the heads with my number 33 bats
Glad they included the extra head, and chest plate! I wonder if the exclusion of extra accessories from the Python Patrol figures was a choice made by Target. Also, what is the Python Officer missing?

As to the swapping heads. I got two of the 2-pack Blue Ninjas and put one of the oni mask heads on one of my Red Ninjas. Also, if there was a safe way to do it, I would have liked to be able to swap around some of the B.A.T.s metal arms (not the attachment pieces, but the whole exposed robot arm that's coming out of the sleeve) to mix and match and make some of them unique. As in give one of the Python B.A.T.s one or both silver arms. A Classic B.A.T. could have one or both black arms from a Crimson B.A.T., etc.
I started army building when I saw the baroness and the Alley and Night Vipers were going after Scarlett and Snake Eyes. I bought 6 at a time. eBay came along and I collected early. So I got great deals.
Wow! That's a pretty unfortunate decision on the different neck peg size. Now I'm curious if any of the other plastic-free packaged figures have a different neck peg. Head swaps have been one of the fun things to do with lines like this and Masters of the Universe Origins.
Snake Eyes with white Timber actually has a bigger neck peg than gray Timber Snake Eyes. I swapped the head onto the older fig and had to put a little piece of folded paper towel in there to make it tight.
I still have the G.I. Joe: Sigma 6 line, many of which are still in those awesome display cases with the two piece hinged foot locker tote to store their gear in. Those would be great for the six inch line too! I have about 12 loose ones I use for a diorama background in my display cases.

The battle damaged parts make the army building better, so i was surprised they added the extras in this one, and that snow BAT is going to look awesome.

Those pencil boxes work great for storage and pretty good for display. The lids may bulge out slightly if you pose them for display and Barbecue's box bulges even with arms at his sides. I've even got Lady Jaye wearing her backpack in the box and Stalker and Stormshadow's weapon holders will fit in the box on their backs. Will be making another order probably next week.

I was reading that Recondo has a smaller ball joint on his head too, are they the same sizes? Maybe it's a design going forward on all figures.

I was always a fan of the B.A.T.. I'll get any repaints of them or the vipers. I'd really like to see a B.A.T. II and Overkill in the classified line.
