The Galaxy A55 is ₦668k or $450. For that price you could get the Galaxy S21 Ultra or the S22+. So which will you choose new midrange (Galaxy A55) or old Flagship (Galaxy S21 Ultra)
Bought mine in march 0f 2020, used it for 3 years as my daily driver. Fantastic phone. Still have it and works well, including the battery, which is surprising.
I am so "addicted" to the S10+, still inlove with the design and specs. One of the best phones ever produced by Samsung. I had it a few years back and i was pickpocketed, bought an S10 but this year went back to S10+...still love it...I feel 😑😑 with the new slabs released lately.
I changed the battery on my S10+ after almost 3 years. Not a scratch on the phone, at the time (always use a case and self-healing screen protector). However, I knew that a battery replacement would ensure the back panel/glass would not survive, so I ordered one on AliEx (~US$12), along with the battery (OEM, from Amazon ~$37). The replacement back came with the adhesive pre-applied, to ensure a good and proper dust proof seal after install. It took me about 25 minutes to replace the battery (a heat gun, jewelers screw driver, plastic phone-blade for removal of the back without damaging phone, 90% alcohol), including removal of ~14 small screws and a couple of ribbon cables from their connections. The longest part of the process...removal of the old gummy adhesive. Removal of the battery was a careful process to pry it away from its glued in position (heat gun helped). Fresh battery and rear back cover...mint again! Note that I did set the software to 85% max charge...to increase the lifetime of the new battery and extend the useful life of this flagship phone. Excellent camera...w/phone jack...and w/MicroSD expansion...THIS IS A TERRIFIC PHONE! As I need a phone with a quality camera and good audio support, the S10+ meets these requirements with aplomb. Mine has LDAC codec enabled under dev options, too.
S10 is still a decent phone. But for anybody needing a good temp phone to hold you over for a bit it's solid. At the very least get 20 or s21 to hold you over for a few years to you upgrade
I am thinking of buying the S10+ . I have a new Redmi 13 pro but i don't like the restrictions put on android 13 and 14 . It is currently running Android 14 Hyper OS . I play a lot of games and modify game files. But with android 13and 14 i cant do anything. So getting back to using Samsung is good. Since I used to use Samsung and Apple. Plus still plays a lot of games better
Fol4 getting main screen replaced. Starting using s10+ in mean time. Straight away wonder why I'm considering a s24+. S10+ does everything anyone would want
Had my galaxy S10+ from 2019 to last month when it died and I upgraded or the S24 Ultra. This phone was still doing an awesome job and I would have pushed till next year if it had not fallen and broken. Great video!
Had my s10+ since day 1 till this jan and upgraded to s24 ultra. I should say, i played alot call of duty mobile. Changed the battery a year ago and got 6 hours of screen on time. 3 hours of gaming. With just 60hz it was the best phone. I upgraded cuz the power and volume buttons fell out 😂 so basically it was on its last leg. But still i loved that phone alot. Everything was perfect with that one.
Had mine for years and still charges well and lasts just fine. No need to buy a new one..not just yet. Security could be an issue unless you get a good App that protects your fone.
7+ hours SOT for normal usage like browsing webs and social media but mostly indoor. Outdoor usage may be around 6+ hours, and I'm not planning to replace anytime soon.
I just dropped it today and smashed the screen after having it for over 3 years and im pristine condition without even a scratch. I am devastated and im gonna pay over £200 for a replacement screen as i love it soo much 😭
I use a samsung MIDRANGE phone AKA a M series phone and i used it for 4 years it was launched back in 2020 and samsung provided software updates from android 9 to android 12 and when they stopped giving updates i simply installed Custom rom (lineage os) and it works more smoother than the samsung software i used to have back then and boi i tell u how much Better my battery life has gotten after installing the custom rom. So if you're buying an S10 pr s8 or s9 it's still worth it u can install custom rom which is well optimized and you're good to go for next 3 years. And because of the optimization the battery life will be drastically improve. And this mainstream devices will have their official rom pages unlike mine I installed unofficial version of custom rom which was meant for other phone in my phone but it still managed to run because of the same platform of chipsets.

i bought my s10+ in 2019 and its display is still better than most phones today. However, the back cover has fallen off because the glue seems to have worn off. If i can repair that, I gonna use it for another 2-3 years
This phone actually perform better than current midrange phones, it can't compete with new flagship phones I agree, but it's way better than current midrange phones. I agree with you on the battery life though.
i'm an s21 ultra user and i can vouch for older flagships over new midrance/budget phone but i wouldn't go older than S20 or S21 siries my recomendation is a used S21 FE as it's a really good phone for the price and preforms like the s21+ as well as having 2 years of new software support left as of Q1 2024
Flagship phones are the go-to for camera performance. I use a Galaxy S5 in 2024 and although it's 10 years old it destroys low end to low-midrange smartphones to this day. Even though the performance on most apps suck, it can record 4k 30fps with HDR when low end phones can only record a quote on quote "1080p" 30 fps smudge. It can also record 120fps at 1080p even with HDR!! The performance on most apps suck and it's on Android 6.0.1 so not a lot of support for apps but i can play Real Racing 3 at around 25 to 30fps on the phone even though it's the base spec 2gb ram 16gb storage and 3G only model. It's also Exynos.
Can't lie the best camera review is literally shooting the video on the phone. Personally I would get it if that's what's in my budget, but if I have more I'll go for the note 20 or 10 even and the S20 range.

Maybe, but in performance, the low end A series phones (not the mid-rangers) are catching up to the 5-6 year old flagships already. The S10 is next.
