Awesome! There is a lot to be said for living within your means. Case/IH makes some dream equipment but are financially out of reach for so many. The Bud's may not be the newest technology, however by keeping that old iron paid for and not going in debt, you built houses that I rather suspect were paid for before you moved in, has given your families the ability to weather (pun intended) the tough years. Keep it up!

The kta 19 is a brilliant engine for its age. They are still current product and available. Built out of the cummins seymour indiana plant. Granted they were superseded by the QSK 19, however they are still very popular in the marine market. Still see some in drills here in australia but getting less and less. Some markets like africa still build new drills rigs with kta19 just because of their simplicity, durability and the ability to run some pretty ordinary fuel. Noticed this is a very old 2 piece timing cover which were obsoleted long ago. Also has the large oil cooler for the torque converter cooling.
I remember the last brand new kenworth c501 that came into our shop in the late 90s with a kta19 before emissions regs prevented them being installed. Awesome truck

Loved those old KTA 600's, we ran them in lots of our logging equipment.

We alway pack our new oil pumps with Vaseline, it’s thick enough to create suction to prime the oil pump but thin enough to melt into the oil when the engine gets up to temp, also because it’s petroleum jelly it doesn’t do any damage and mixes with the oil, so no oil change is required.

I love to watch repairs and maintenance on this channel. I learn so much about principles in mechanics that can be applied to my non-Ag life.
    Keep up the good work!

I noticed in assembly Brian doesn't use impacts like 90% of all mechanics. Over tightening is not a good thing. Congratulation to doing it old school where you can feel, hear & see when the bolt is seated

Little trick for heating up the pulley is to use a toaster oven to heat it up.
